cute. But your limited thinking assumes that coaches can make only one position a priority.

That’s just not the case.

this one sentence blows my mind.

Good, because it's not true. It's the weakest position for our area. It's always going to be LSU's coach's biggest problem.

We are not ever getting a 9 person Oline class. At least not 9 SEC starters. Completely unrealistic.

Or heron made the decision to go to the speed before Brady was even a candidate. And Orgeron took the risk and hired Brady…

Orgeron recruited Burrow. Without a speed offense. And most of the people like you on here Said who the bleep is Burrow and this does nothing…

Many of crapped on Orgeron and Burrow in 2018.

Don’t really care most of the people on here are negativ e and full of bleep

Ruins the board

9 SEC starters in one class won’t happen anywhere.
My point is to get 9 bodies to start building depth. Maybe take some 3 stars. Maybe some portal guys who need a fresh start. Then develop these guys and maybe hope for 3 of these 9 to pan out as multi year starters. We need to start now.
OL needs to be the high obvious priority this year.

The 4 current OL commits + Armenia & Agbo would be great. Then 2 best available JC or portal OL to complete the OL class.

I like the idea of improving the offensive line, because we obviously are limited as a program with a bad offensive line, just as any team is.

But the problem at LSU isn't numbers. We have plenty of offensive linemen, we just have a lot of them who can't play at an SEC level. We can sign 15 and it won't help a bit if they aren't talented or can't be developed. For whatever reason, LSU hasn't been able to evaluate and develop offensive linemen. Until that is corrected, it won't matter how many we sign.

Get five solid players every year and develop them, get the rare big time recruit, and we'll be fine, because it's apparently a pipe dream for LSU to recruit top rated offensive line classes.

This was a big problem under Miles as well.

Yes - if we get 8 that can contribute it will be the best we have accomplished in forever

Not sure they’re pushing real hard for Agbo anymore, Slidell. I could be wrong, but there just hasn’t been as much as even a peep about us recruiting him in a while.

I do know that Agbo included LSU in his top-5 that he dropped like six weeks ago, but I haven’t heard even a rumbling about a potential date set for him to officially visit this fall.

IMO, the biggest & most realistic HS target on our board should be (and probably is) Julian Armella. We need to get this kid on board in the worst way.

If we can reel-in Armella and at least one (1) OT from the portal, I’d be happy and consider it a pretty dam good class. Just my two cents…

I saw Cam East is committed to Miss St...he may be raw and needs developing, but that's one that especially with where we are now, needs to be in this class.

I'm not in favor of taking juco guys with the new spots available for transfers. JC guys still count against the 25 recruiting class limit, whereas transfers count against the new 7 player transfer replacement slots.

They went hard after 1 guy….1 and missed. It a reoccurring theme.

The recruiting emphasis on the OL isn’t the same as DL.

Whitefoot, that's a great point, and one I hadn't even thought about.

What??? The first thing O said when he was hired was that he needs and is going to try to sign first rounders on the OL and DL. You people make shite up for the hell of it. We haven’t had a coach able to recruit that position since Saban. Saban happen to be here when Louisiana had some great talent in state.

Les Miles recruited a different way but people didn’t like that either. Ed O is trying to get top tackles to play that position, top guards who play guard and the best centers to play center but also cross training when necessary.

The problem has been that he IS going after the top talent and is getting beat for them. He hasn’t been recruiting just any 3* to come play. LSU doesn’t and hasn’t built up the momentum needed for OOS recruits to trust our program enough to compete with the other top schools talking down that position at LSU for them to sign with us.

They like us but when it’s time to make a decision, they end up trusting the other program more. We need more history of recent success and to do that, we have to have numbers. We can still go after the 5* but we also need to add numbers and I really could care less where they come from. Juco, Transfer or High School as long as it keeps our OL consistently good, then we’ll be able to compete with whoever is negatively talking about our OL program!!!

Agree Whitefoot - unless you can obtain a superior OL from a JC. If the prospects are of equal talent - the portal provides an advantage.
