People are stupid if you think O doesn`t stess OL recruiting. If a kid doesn`t want to come here what can O do.
LSU every year signs alot of CB`s and they keep coming.
ALA every year sign OL they keep coming .Why is this.I don`t
know but it happens.Jimbo at Fla.St had serious issiues
signing OL.Why was that.I guess O should open up the
LSU checkbook and get them.Of course if he gets caught you
will be the first one on here calling him a cheater.

We’ll get a 5 star and some 3 stars and O will say this next offseason that they look better than they ever have at the position

It is because O has built his reputation as a great recruiter...just like Miles did. I think they both are guilty of signing the highest star players regardless of position. So LSU always has top recruiting classes but very poor team position management. Thus our pitiful OLine. Hard to develop and win with 2-3 star Olinemen across the board. It happens but it also makes you look really weak when it ain't happening...and it ain't happening at LSU.

Yeah I think 8 is the min No to go for this cycle. 4 hs kids and 4 transfer/ portal. I would not be upset though if they went all in and got 9-10 guys. Though I doubt that happens and if we have the same staff in the off-season 6-7 is probably a number closer to what they will go for unfortunately.

If the NCAA approves the extra signees to replace transfers and we get 7 more to 32 it may well happen.

Yeah? Why is that?

Did he tell you that he isn't coming to LSU?

They won't all sign. They all want playing time. Hard to get with a 9 player signing class

One thing that helps is the transfer replacements will not be available until after ESD and maybe NSD. The NCAa does not want the portal to hinder the HS players from getting in

Your Armella comment is the hottest of hot BS takes on O-Line recruiting, and considering that this is TD, that’s saying something.

I’d put it just below the “Emory Jones is FSU bound” take that some other poster had a few months back.

Well done, blackjack. Haha…..

Yeah, it's not a numbers problem on the offensive line, it's quality and development that are at issue. There's absolutely no reason to sign nine offensive linemen unless we also plan to sign six linebackers, since that position stinks, too.

Sign five offensive linemen who can actually play SEC quality football every year and you're good.

Well 3 seasons ago we won the Championship so obviously we didn’t have a problem that year. And year before we won Fiesta so didn’t have a problem that year. So yes, last 2 years we’ve had serious problems on the OL.
So I guess you have a short memory!!

How could an sec coach NOT make EVERY position a priority?

It's alot easier when 99% of the top recruits in your state play skilled positions.

The real question should be, why does Louisiana not produce more talented OL? Is it because the more talented larger guys usually stick to DT?

I used to refuse to believe this. But it damn sure seems to part of it.

I think the majority of the problem (51%? 99%?) is coaching at the HS level. This has been said before, but LSU needs to lead the way in schooling HS coaches on how to develop and coach technique to OL (remembering not every school even has an OL coach).

LSU would reap the benefits over the years for this. And it is open season recruiting rules wise when it comes to doing such for HS coaches.

Embedded in that HS coaching problem is what is required to be a Div-I OT or OG as compared to a high school superstar. Simply put, a big guy can dominate based off of being big. While you might not need to do it to succeed at the HS level, you should be coaching/drilling/training that big guy to be at the Div-I level. That means training them to be big arse athletes. Not just big asses.
