If it's Savion and Langston you shouldn't be over-hyping this. These are great guys to get but Savion was expected and Langston still needs his grades. These statements create expectations that the secret signees are hopefully Foreman and Leigh. If the result is Savion and the other is a disqualified Langston, you wind up ticking people off and losing the trust of the fanbase.
If that is the situation, O (and you) should just be quiet about it.

Jones is worth celebrating regardless of whether a "surprise" or not.

Why do you come on here and say that. It’s pretty much what is reported so don’t let your hopes go outside the lines that Vol has drawn. If you can’t control your own fantasies then maybe you shouldn’t read. So here’s some advice...think of it as being Jones and Langston and if it’s not then booom there’s your excitement.

I'm excited about getting Savion and Langston too, but you do them a disservice if you oversell and that is at least what Vol is doing. One way to mitigate that is to say we signed two "solid" guys that are going to be great ball players for us. That way if it is Savion and Langston people don't react negatively.
Both O and Vol know the fanbase have legitimate concerns. We are grateful for hints that there are others. They just have to be careful they don't create unreasonable expectations. That's not on us, that's on them.

We don't know if Max Prep made and printed an assumption, then corrected it.

It wasn’t even a story, it was a picture of past number 1 ranked players. I honestly doubt they had the inside information and leaked it. Probably just went with what they assumed.
But I appreciate the response as I didn’t know if I missed something.

Maybe so, but it really doesn't bother me. This state produces stud linebackers by the cartload, and they are often not rated super high. In recent years we've had:
Debo Jones 3 star
Duke Riley 3 star
Patrick Queen Low 4 star ranked just 12th in the state and 298 in nation
We should be able to man those positions well. I worry more about offensive line.

Don't know if this was mentioned, but the way you can tell is if the announcement is made after tomorrow (the 19th or later), but before the Feb signing date, and O mentions them by name at any time, then you can take it to the bank that they signed.

I think they took the picture down. The column to the right said "signed with" and next to Foreman said USC.
