Looks like we picked up her teammate Jasmine Carson also.

Where did you see that? She is not very impressive according to her stats as a guard. Martinez will be ok.

Just ok?
Carson was added mostly for depth but she was good at Georgia Tech averaging near 10 PPG as a sophomore. She didn't play much at WVU but this is where talent evaluation and player development comes in play. Got to trust the coaches on their evaluation here.
Look at Alexis Morris at all her stops without Kim, her numbers were average everywhere except playing under Kim at Baylor and LSU. Coaching matters... Jailin Cherry was a great example of that this year also. They need some type of experience to bridge the gap until the freshmen come along.
I believe LSU has 2-3 spots left

Thanks. Appreciate the info. I haven't watched much WVU basketball. I was just going off her stats.

Esmery is from the Dominican Republic and had lots of offers in HS including UCLA, Oregon, and Louisville just to name a few. She was the 9th best Forward according to talent evaluators. She originally signed and committed to Ms State in 2018. 7 months later she asked for and was granted her release to explore other options. Twitter accounts following Texas women's BB tweeted that she signed with the Longhorns in June 2019. WVA athletics confirmed Esmery signed and committed to the Mountaineers in September 2019 where she played 3 years.
She definitely has game and can dominate the glass. Mulkey obviously saw her talent when WVU played vs. Baylor. Esmery was 2nd on her team in scoring with 11.3 ppg. She led WVU in rebounds (8.8 pg), and finished 4th in the B12. As a team, WVU finished 7th overall in the B12 last year. IMO, with just 2 years left to play WCBB, Esmery wanted a shot at winning a NC before pursuing a professional career. Looking fwd to the 2022-23 roster and Mulkey developing the chemistry for LSU WBB to compete for an SEC and National Championship.

Ladazhia Williams is rumored to be the next one to announce. Former 5 star recruit, SC and Missouri player. 6'4 post player.
Averaged 12 PPG last year and 9 this year for Missouri shooting over .500 from the field. Impressive numbers considering Missouri rarely used post players and was scoring 10 PPG in like 20 minutes of play. Had a double double in Missouri's upset over SC this past season.

Think we need a point guard. Alexis is so much better off the ball. Wonder if Ware will stick around. I think she has potential.

How tall and does she have 2 years with the Tigers?

6'2" - she has played 3 years of CBB. With the free COVID year, she has 2 years of eligibility left

Big get. 6’ 2”. Immediately solidifies the post. I assume Kim will be repeating her three guard-two post lineup. Hopefully this lights a fire under Hannah Gusters and she plays more aggressively. Great post tandem if HG can live up to her potential.

I may end up being wrong but I just don’t see Timia Ware ever being Kim Mulkey’s starting point guard.

This would be great. Unless Hannah Gusters just really busts out, it might be better for her to come off the bench one more season.

37% from 3 on about 2.5 attempts per game the last two seasons.

Not sure what your point is or if I’m understanding correctly?
They said they wanted to add mostly one year players from the portal. I guess it’s their hope she can provide some scoring from the perimeter based off the press release

If Mulkey can get big Gusters in shape and consistent, she and Williams could be a solid inside duo. Her best teams always had two big inside players on the floor.
