Potential to be the best we've had in years. I'd expect the bulk of this class to be OL and DL. Probably somewhere around 12-13 total OL/DL when it's all said and done.

I really wish Guillory and Roy would get on board. I know it’s only April but I feel like the momentum is strong as ever to get this done.

I think one of the problems is numbers. I see a number of posts where folks are suggesting we take 7-8 DBs, and I just don't see how that works.
I am thinking:
---------------
5 OL (Ford, Jackson + 3 out of Raym, M-Lewis, Martinez, Van Pran, and Crawford)
1 TE
3 WR
2 QB
1 TB
----
12 on offense
4 DL (Berry + 3 out of Roy, Wright, Guillory and Lee)
2 ILB (Sampah + 1)
3 Edge (Clowney, Bryant, and Kennedy)
3 CB (Ricks, Johnson, Burns)
3 S (White, Ranson, + 1 out of Reed, Toles, Williams)
----
15 on defense
So with no special teams guys listed, that puts us 2 over the limit already. So unless we are somehow able to count back with early enrollees - we are running out of slots, based on expectations.

How would that fit? We have 3 total OL/DL currently say we get 12 that’s nine more Which puts us at 23 so then Alford and Ransom that’s 25 and then no RB,TE and no space for Kennedy either also if we get a surprise guy like Flowe,Ringo there wouldn’t be any space I just don’t see 12-13 I think 9-10 say we get 10 then we have 4 spots Alford, Ransom, Kennedy, Milton/Clayton

Perhaps he is considering Edge rushers as D-Linemen. If so, then I agree with his estimate of 12 total OL/DL.

There's no way we take that many.
I'd say 10 max. Unless you're counting the OLB pass rushers in that, then I could see 12.

I think there will be 11 with us turning good players down not counting the olb s
Posted on 4/30/19 at 12:20 pm to Chalkywhite84
You are thinking 11 guys in the trenches - not including Edge rushers? Wow - because my list above has us 2 over the limit already - and that is with just 9 guys in the trenches.
Which 4 spots would you delete from my list of 27? Perhaps we could do without a TE. Perhaps only 2 Edge rushers. Maybe only 2 CBs??? Only 2 safties???

I agree with this.
Can’t turn away elite talent to take projects at this point.

It could be more like 10-11. The other number was just what I came up with off the top of my head, and I probably over estimated one or two.

Vol, Ransom is someone we really need in this class. Could you give us a percentage on where we stand and which running back do you feel makes it in?
Posted on 4/30/19 at 12:53 pm to rickyh
Idk about a percentage, but it's a very solid shot.
