re: @Vol how do you feel about the trenches for this 2020 class

It’s imperative. Until we start winning recruiting battles against the Tide and Clemson’s of the world it will be same ol same ol. Great skill players but get our chit pushed in because we can’t stop the run or pass protect. Hopefully with a competent AD he will shape up the compliance dept and we will begin to win those battles. Here’s to hoping it starts this year

Potential to be the best we've had in years. I'd expect the bulk of this class to be OL and DL. Probably somewhere around 12-13 total OL/DL when it's all said and done.

Hey Vol, of all our OL prospects (committed and uncommitted) who has the potential to be true OTs?
Posted on 4/30/19 at 4:42 pm to VolTiger13
Are we set in stone to be taking 25? We’re losing a lot of players and some teams have taken 28+ before
Posted on 4/30/19 at 4:58 pm to ConeHawk
Cam Jackson, Courtland Ford, Marcus Dumervil, Crawford kid committed to Arky, Andrew Raym.

What’s making us so confident in taking Raym from Oklahoma?

I’m not saying we do take him, but we are recruiting him hard and with the way things have been going lately, I wouldn’t count anyone out.

For the millionth time. It doesn’t matter how many scholarship players we lose. We can only back count if we signed less than 25 from the previous class. We signed 25 in the last class which means we have a hard cap of 25 for this class

2020 DL
Maybe Branard Wright and McKinnley Jackson as well. Depending on who joins this class, I don't see Berry making the cut. Seems that LSU offers scholarships rather loosely early on, then withdraw when someone more coveted hops on board. LSU has a lot of momentum going into summer, wouldn't surprise me if a few big names on the OL and DL decide to take a look and like what they see and jump on board. We need big, athletic and strong horses in this class. We need some road graders and soul takers, mother truckers and mean...……..dudes... You know what I'm talkin' 'bout!!!

Additions: if all current commits stay committed
OL:
Van Pran
Dumerville or another OT
Martinez or Merriweather
RB:
Clayton or Milton
DL:
Roy
Guillory
Wright or Lee
S:
Ransom
Alford
Another CB (Burns)
1 Optional DE/TE/Flowe/Kennedy
For the poster above who has Josh White as a S.. He is in this class as an ILB and his spot is guaranteed. He’s in this class.

Rivals has White at 205 lbs. 247 has him at 200 lbs. Personally, I do not see him playing ILB in the SEC anywhere near that weight. So does he have the frame that can put on 15-20 lbs if “good weight” without impacting his agility??? It just seems more reasonable to place him at Safety for now.

SaintLSU said it all. Until we get hawgs that can manhandle Bama and Clemson up front, all these little skinny, wirey, fast arse 5 star dudes will get their shite pushed in!!!

Josh White will play Lber. Don’t worry about his weight. He’s a junior in HS.

Looks like Pat Jenkins is another name for DL. Also appears they really like Ty'kiest Crawford at OT and will try to flip him from Arkansas.

Right.
There would be a lot of potential for rule abuse if you could just "lose" scholarship players and load up on recruits for the next class.

I think they really like Crawford after working with him in camp. I imagine Dumervil is still in play too and LSU may actually be leading for him at the moment.

yeah I think they get both and don't get Paris Johnson.
