He can play for the national champs or be a part of a 6-6 team. His Choice.

He can play in his home state and be a hero that maybe revitalizes the program like Kevin Faulk did for LSU by staying home or just be another mercenary front runner.

For LSU’s sake I hope he chooses them but stop acting like this is the nfl and a guy is choosing money on a crap team vs a contender. It’s different.

And college kids should never ever choose a college because of the current coach much less a position coach imo. I’ll never understand why some lower level assistant who has about a 50 percent chance of not even being there the next season would have that much influence.

Go where you’ll enjoy it the most. 99 percent of college fb players don’t win a championship and I bet most would still say they had a good experience.

Of course he recruits because he has to. That doesn't mean he's a good recruiter or he does more than the bare minimum. We need guys who can pick that slack up on staff behind guys like Raymond. Haven't replaced Meatball with anyone meaningful yet and that's a big loss recruiting wise.

How do you know how good of a recruiter Johnson is or how much work he puts into it?

Which big defensive line recruits do you credit meatball with landing?

Not sure that was enough to settle for mediocrity. We’ll see what he decides.

He’s listed as the primary recruiter for Jaquellin Roy, Jacobian Guillory, BJ Ojulari, and Eric Taylor, so...most of them??

Need some better closers on our staff.

We need more money.

I’m confident our coaches work / recruit harder than any other coaching staff in the country.

I’m confident they say and do all the right things.

We just don’t have the same bankroll to play with at the level of a UGA, Bama, Clemson, even Texas A&M.

He won’t be the first kid that goes to a school he doesn’t want to. Mom wins.

I'm not trying to shite on Meatball, because I do think he was a good recruiter, but prior to this year, we missed on most, or all, of our big defensive line targets. Also, most of those guys committed after he was moved into an analyst role, so I'm not sure how much contact he had with those guys. I think it would have been a recruiting violation, but maybe he got a waiver so he could recruit from the analyst role, I don't know.

All you have to do is listen to who the recruits talk about. That tells you who they like and who's recruiting them the most.

I thought the narrative was his mom wants him at LSU but he prefers to stay closer to home?

So everyone is giving up? Bc he visited there?

6 & 6? Put down the crack pipe. USC isn't finishing 6 & 6.

Regardless of what happens, you have to commend this staff for not giving up when it seemed to be over on ESD.

He could get more national exposure and be a big name if he came to LSU. Could cost him millions in a future draft by going to SC

The dude will be fine wherever he ends up. Going to South Carolina vs LSU won't impact his draft stock.
