Looks like we're going to whiff on our last 2 big recruits. Need some better closers on our staff. The only weakness recruiting wise right now. Get some young blood who can seal the deal instead of dinosaurs like Bill Johnson who can't/don't recruit for dick.

One things for sure USCe will be a much better team with Burch, they'll most assuredly be one of if not THE best....

4 loss team in the SEC East!

another reason y'all are so delusional y'all actually think these kids care about winning, we didn't win shite for 8 years and still had top recruiting classes, ask Rakim how bad he cares about winning, the most important thing I think these kids are looking for these days are early playing time so they can get out in 3 years and go make bank, aka looking out for themselves which you should have no problem with

Good Lord, man. Quit panicking. Both these guys would be really nice to have, but Burch is an extremely hard pull and for Jackson, we've already signed 3 defensive tackles in this class.

You really think some "young" coach is just going to magically pull them? Were you happy with Meatball's recruiting? He was "young blood" and a very good recruiter.

Last year, when we missed on all those linemen, all the panicky bitches said we needed a line coach with more skins on the wall.

Nobody is on panic mode. And yes, young recruiters make a huge difference especially when you have dinosaurs like Bill Johnson on staff who basically DON'T RECRUIT the positions they coach.

You just answered your own question about a young coach and you're asking me if it makes a difference? Are you new to recruiting?

They like guys they can relate with and LSU needs closers on the staff. That's all that matters selling whatever you can get to close the deal on the recruits. Having old coaches on the staff is not helping us in recruiting and right now the average age is way too high considering LSU has been raided.

Delusional? You mean about a kid's motivation or the fact LSU is a better football program?

If a kid doesn't care about winning then I wouldn't want them anyway!

USCe hasn't won shite EVER...one ACC championship in 1969! LSU has been competitive nearly every year for the last 20 years(3 NC's, 5 SEC Championships)! If not for Saban and Bama, it would have been twice as many!

Yeah, all of these great players are going to Clemson because they love their helmets.

It doesn't matter if you win or lose. It's what you sell in recruiting. If winning was the only thing that mattered you'd never see different teams in the playoffs every year. It would be the same few programs every single year. To build a dynasty is extremely difficult to do. Bama/Clemson getting where they are...sure, winning helps but they have staff of lights out recruiters who can sell the angle. You can be a loser and sell the angle you're a program defining recruit...that's what made Miles such a great closer for LSU when we were mediocre. It's the angle you can sell to a recruit it doesn't matter if you win or lose. Recruiting is just as significant as coaching which is why you're not seeing great coaches consistently make the playoffs because they're not good recruiters. LSU has a solid staff but it can be better and needs to get better especially since on both borders now we have Kiffin who is a lights out recruiter and Jimbo another lights out recruiter with Saban right across from there. Time to up the ante.

For whatever reason Burch is buying into USCe. They sold their side better than LSU and out recruited us. Simple as that.

You're really comparing our last 8 years to the current state of the South Carolina program? I'll say it again, you're a fool.

I was saying that to prove y'alls logic of recruits should come here cus we just one the NATTY, Y'all really need everything spelled out for you, i'm saying recruits want EPT so they can get the the NFL in 3 years, ESP the top recruits, also those years we got a lot of kids form LA, our backyard, well guess who is in USCe backyard, y'all are just so dense y'all will just believe what y'all wanna believe I guess

Lots of hypocrisy. Destroy kids that leave Louisiana to win but blast the decision to stay in state when it’s not a Louisiana kid.

But it’s different... no it really isn’t.

And going to LSU does nothing to enhance his nfl prospects. Clowney got drafted just fine at usc.

If he’s good, he’s good. Downvotes commence

What point? That LSU hadn't won shite in 8 years or your claim that players don't care about winning championships.

I despise fans like you! Fans who lack any semblance of loyalty, those who go out of their way to disparage LSU in order to support their own myopic and unsubstantiated premises.

We’ll see if he wants to win football games or be worshiped on campus. I honestly think staying home has little to do with being around family and more to do with everyone in that area who’s been kissing his rear end for years. I think he’s afraid he’ll simply blend in anywhere else and won’t be a celebrity anymore.
He's actually a pretty shy kid.

What are you talking about? Johnson went in home with Jackson earlier this week.

You think all recruits want their coaches to be their buddies? I'd say more want coaches they believe can help them get better and develop into the best versions of themselves.

To say older coaches can't connect with young players is extremely naive. It's not like they're connecting about playing Xbox. It's about football and life. Did you see Kary Vincent and BDP after the A&M game? You think they didn't have a connection? How about O with Brown after the Auburn game?

Burton Burns is older than Bill Johnson and was one of the top recruiters every year. You think he couldn't connect with kids?
