Now if you want to call Top Billin retarded, that's on you.

Arik would be a 5 star DE without a doubt. The 247 guys have even said it.

But if you can have a player be even more effective at a position that can actually put points on the board and literally win you games, you play him at that position.

And yes, Top Billin is really stupid.

but inferring Arik would be moving to DE is borderline retarded

I'm certainly not suggesting that Arik move to DE, but it's certainly not "retarded" to suggest high-level athletes can excel at multiple positions.

People always think the current position is what should remain unchanged. It's like the "OMG Miles wanted to move Jamarr Chase to DB, LOL" threads.

There have been many star DB/WR that have been moved with success. I'm glad Chase is at WR, but I have no doubt he would be a star at DB, just as Stingley would at WR.

Just as Gilbert would at DE.

Random question, and I honestly don’t know the answer, just asking.. do TEs or DEs have a higher average salary in the NFL?

The most remarkable and glorious thing about this "Burch Saga"^ is that is has all but completely provided a much needed relief from threads about the very active Passing Game Coordinator search.
seriously though what the fukk is going on there

I'd venture to say DEs, because affecting the passer is at a premium in today's NFL

DEs by a long shot.

DE's are way higher.

Highest paid tight end: Jimmy Graham at $10 million per year

That would not even rank in the top 10 of defensive ends.

Demarcus Lawrence is at $21 million per year.

This makes absolutely no sense if both sides are 100% then there would be no hold up lol

Arik Gilbert is an elite tight end. We have to figure out ways to get the ball in that guys hands bc he makes shite happen, period. No way in hell Gilbert ever plays a down other than on offense at LSU. This is just stupid to even remotely consider happening.

DEs for sure

OTs, DEs, and QBs are all at a premium in the NFL

But what you have is a generational type talent (very likely even better than that) at the TE/WR position in Gilbert.

He's really just a very versatile jumbo WR.

Just read a tweet that said SC’s D-Line Coach is interested/rumored for Penn State D-Line job. So that could be the reason for him being torn.

There is a USCe poster on SEC Recruiting basically saying his signing turned real dirty and LSU wants no bbn part of his signature. Not sure how much of it was sour grapes, but he didn't really change his story after the signature became official.
