It would be idiotic not to be impressed with Latham and the brockermeyers. Cmon man. If we had that haul, we’d be impressed too.

It would also be idiotic to minimize what our OL accomplished last season given the circumstances and the relative talent, but that doesn't seem to stop the star gazers on this board.

Some of the same folks were the ones drooling all over Alfono two years ago and making excuses for 247 ranking him above Stingely after he committed to Bama.

Thanks for the research. Don't agree on the analysis. To me this shows a big difference with our biggest competitors for Natty's. This is the only area where O is behind the other guys. I have no doubt he is/will fix it. The quality of OTs were are in on is proof of progress. Your analysis shows 7 for us and 12 for them. That is an entire Oline better of top quality linemen. The teams you compared to are where we want to be.

I know people are going to come back at me with the award our Oline received last year. I give them credit for a good year, but doubt they win that without Burrow, the play calling, the receivers, and CEH. Not trying to diss them at all. Just think this is the only area on our team where the other top teams are recruiting better than us. It is about to change.

Honestly LSUs o-line talent compared to those teams have been absolute shite, that's sadly the truth. Although we are comparatively much worse talent wise lately doesn't mean we have bad talent, in fact last year proved they were plenty good enough. At the same time there were plenty of moment last year where you could see our online being completely manhandled, hell joe burrow was one of, if not the most sacked QB in the country. Orgeron is changing the recruiting narrative and with Tristan Leigh all but committed at this point we are catching up to that elite tier of o-lineman. I can't wait to see what the next few years holds for this LSU team. GEAUX TIGERS!!!

You are absolutely correct. Our o-line was not great last, they were good enough to let the GOAT win it all for us!

I was just looking at this the other day and thinking the exact same thing. I’m not sure how we don’t take at least 2-3 OT / 1-2 OG and 1-2 OG/OC. I think we will end up getting these numbers. We will need to get these numbers again next year too. 4-5 total each year.

This makes it clear that those teams are stacking up and we’re still slightly behind. Looks like that’s changing though.

no one minimized it and you're letting semantics de-rail.

look we all trust O and his eval, but some SEC schools are getting the guys we also wanted.

bama has a haul.
uga will most certainly have its 4th haul in 4 years.

I am fine with whom we get, but OLINE is the most important thing for me.

not even remotely jives with

it would be idiotic to minimize Orgeron if he had gotten the brockermeyers/latham/ferguson.......so use your head and say facts, that four man haul is great. i will gladly take a just-as-good haul with Leigh, Dellinger and two more, but there are less and less every week.

While I agree, it doesn’t mean you just stop recruiting them all together. There is a reason they are rated as 5 stars. And normally the 5 stars have a better chance at panning out than the 3 and 4 stars. Doesn’t always work like that but on average they do.

People fail to recognize success… regards of stars the kids LSU gets are able to ball.

This star shite needs to stop because as long as they pan out regardless of their “star rating” its great for us.

You can give “them” as much “credit” as you want. They’ll probably let you do that over on their board if you flatter them enough. I’ll be happy with what LSU has cooking. Have fun.

This was the main reason losing to Bama besides Quarterback.

Gotta win oline & dline.

O doing the best he can.

I’m well aware that there are other teams. They are competition for LSU, and this is an LSU board. Just how much do LSU fans need to sit around appreciating other teams’ recruits for you to be satisfied?

Upvoted. Folks think we’re stargazing when we would be shattin up the rb if we got those four instead of the team that beat us in the trenches for years.

All that said that o will end up with three or four. It’s all good.

Who else are we in the mix for, in this class, other than Dellinger and Tristen Leigh? I know we got Dellinger committed, but 247 says Leigh is 58% Clemson, 8% Penn St, and O% LSU as far as crystal balls go. However we do it, through recruits, JUCO's or transfers, seems to me we need 4-5 in this class, and every class for that matter

No, didn't include Damien Lewis because the OP was comparing HS recruits. Lewis was a heck of a run blocker. Doesn't change my opinion that the OL is a spot where the other guys have had an advantage. I think I will fix it, though. I think he already has for WR, DL, and LB.

The reason for the lag is that the OL coach is new and was not even a college coach busy recruiting OL? You need to know recruits a couple of years before they are comfortable. The Bama OL coach has been recruiting these OL a couple of years. This is Cregg’ssecond year and he picked up pretty well over what had been happening. He was helped by the OL he developed last year. He is a n excellent coach at developing players and it is getting out.
