There are 83 scholarships currently on the team.

As of today with the portals out counted:
35 on offense
45 on defense.
3 on ST
There will be some portals out. Not speculating on who.
But as of now, if I am correct on two things, (easily could be wrong but whatever):
We have room for 22 add-in portals if there are 105 scholarships.
Eta. Sounds like I was wrong about 105

I thought we had to stick to the 85 due to an SEC rule still in effect or does that go away this summer?

The SEC already announced they were sticking at 85 for this season. So there’s going to be a lot of processing happening soon. Supposedly the staff is looking for 10-12 from the portal and at least 2 more HS recruits.

Not gonna lie. This team looks pretty good on paper. Curious what adds take place to make it even better.

So the goal now is turn the “bottom” of the roster and then bring in impact guys / guys that’ll play significant snaps through the portal.

I see a lot of portal transfers, opt outs, and processed players in that 85. You’ve got at least 10 juniors on there that don’t even get to see the field now, why would they stay?

I hope the plan for Colin Hurley is to work him like a beast this off season to prepare him for what's coming. Either that or get a hell of a QB from the portal. Hopefully we're doing both, actually.

Is there any benefit to having a QB of all positions reclassify and enroll into school a year early?
Even with a redshirt year, feels like a 16/17 year old QB prospect is a couple years away from physical/mental maturity (relative to college at least)
