The safety class we’re putting together is underrated

I was listening to Blake Ruffino last night and he said how a msssive need for the 26 class is still at safety and we need to go all in on flipping Bradford. Ngl I would love Bradford for sure but I think that’s severely sleeping on the safety class we’ve already put together. We two guys who compositely are ranked as top 200 overall players in the country in dylan Purter ( 198) and Aiden Hall (78) to along with a high upside freak athlete in Washington.
Hall is arguably the best box safety in the entire class who also has the athleticism to play deep
Purter is arguably the best cover safety in the class and has freakish tools. According to max preps he’s 6’1 , up to 180 pds , has a 6’7 wingspan, 42 inch vertical and runs a 4.44. He has the perfect body type for a center fielder deep safety.
Adding Bradford to this would be great but rn we have some damn good football players in the room

Although Bradford seemed to shut it down you still have his brother on team and pull of home
He seems all but set on buckeyes though

I know nothing but I have a sneaky feeling that the staff likes Hall more than (or at least as much as) Bradford and its why they didn't break the bank to get him. Maybe its purple and gold glasses talking but I think they like Hall ALOT.

I think the Tigers are in great shape safety wise, especially if they land what they have committed in December.
The guys who will have eligibility left next season, including your incoming freshmen will be Spears, Rogers, Cooley, Bradford, Toviano, Thomas, Hall, Purter & Washington.
Hall, Toviano & Spears were all top 100 guys & Rogers, Thomas, Purter & Bradford were all top 300 players. That's a really good amount of talent in that room and doesn't account for any players you get from the portal. Will you keep the entirety of this room intact with the NFL/portal, probably not. Point is though that the safety room is not in some dire position imo.

I can't say that I completely understand that decision. He chose to go freeze his arse off for half the year at a school that's NEVER had a safety drafted in the 1st round. I can think of 3 that LSU sent with Laron Landry, Eric Reid and Jamal Adams.

Or I’m full of shite and they are hiring his lead recruiter because they want him that bad

Thie is why i don't talk about getting Bradford back. We look at who we lost, but not who we have. This are somw seriously good arse prospects who fit our needs. Bradford is really good no doubt, but he's not Caleb Downs.

You have not been paying attention....Blaine Bradford is the missing piece along with the #1qb haven and #1de forestall....hiring the guy away from Ohio st was fricking nothing short of a bobby Fischer chess move...Lamar brown has already started his recruitment back home on X... Brian Kelly does not get enough credit for what he has accomplished and about to accomplish at lsu.

1 less than LSU. But Caleb Downs goes first round this year, so it’s dead even before Bradford even steps on campus.
2nd rd, Ohio state and LSU each have 3 players drafted historically.
It’s a dead heat.

Exactly.
We could do corners as well.

He didn't exactly say that...lol. I took it as him speaking to the talent that Bradford is, he mentioned all of our safety commitments and their rankings. Class is very good but you don't want a talent like Bradford getting away. And you have to remember we're completely revamping that room and took 2 safties from the portal this year and the year before Gilbert. More than likely all those guys will be gone with Cooley being the only possible return.. So numbers wise we need all the guys we can get

All comes down to development. We've got a room full of kids we felt the exact same way about during their cycles. And we still resort to paying up for portal guys. Same for WR. Development is lacking. Huge year for this staff all around on that front. Sloan, Wilson, Davis, Raymond and Olsen all have questions about their recent development records.

First and 2nd rd picks at corner:
Ohio state 13
LSU 11
For entire secondary, that puts Ohio State at 18, LSU 17 for 1st and 2nd rounders.

Do you think the days of the “jumbo safety “ are over? Harry Coleman, Corey Thompson, Chad Jones, JaCoby Steven’s, types have given way to guys more like Katy Vincent Jr. Are tweeners all playing OLB nowadays?
