1988 was the year the crusaders were robbed by a missed extra point.
1989 was the triple overtime game in ruston.
riverside 73 or 74... didn't they have a pollock that signed with bama then?

That 2001 Evangel team had 18 players that went on to sign D1 scholarships. Not all the players were SR's though. Notables were:
John David Booty-USC
Jacob Hester-LSU
Chase Pittman-Texas (then transferred to LSU)
Tristen Ross-Oklahoma
Jonathan Wade-Tennesseee
Thomas Bachman-Texas Tech
Kenneth Brantley-Bowling Green Urban Meyer was HC)
Kenyuta Dawson-Texas Tech
A DL last name was Banks-Arkansas
Chase Bowers-Ole Miss
Tim Henderson-Ole Miss
Denny Rodney Duron-Turned down Scholarship offers in both football & baseball at LSU to go and play baseball at Pepperdine

quote:I graduated in 92 and my brother is three years older than I, so I thought that would put him in 1989. I can't believe I don't know when my brother graduated. The only reason I said it was the year we lost to Ruston was because a friend of his was the starting center on the team and he was a senior too. I grew up with him as well and I remember he was pissed after the game was over, since it was his last as a high schooler.
its all good...
That was the best game I have ever seen live in football.

actually weaver if you graduated in 92... and your brother 3 years older means he would have graduated in 89.. meaning the fall of 88 would have been the football game in question...
88 saders and cats at gormely
89 saders and cats in ruston.

They lost in the quarterfinals. The 2002 was the best Evangel team of that group of guys imo. The only Evangel team to beat the shite out of West Monroe, 35-4. Every other WM-Evangel game was decided by a touchdown or less, except the 2001 beatdown in Independence Stadium by WM. I think that was 37-13 WM in front of 34,000 in a regular season game.

i saw them kill holy cross

no but seriously chalmette in ten years has had a 10-0 season, four playoff appearences, played in 5A for four years now, the catholic league for two of those...
0 FBS players in that time
2 in FCS, one who actually did anything
3 guys who did alright in NAIA
and 1 LSU recruit who didn't qualify academically

maybe the law of averages will catch up with us again soon

Evangel also spanked West Monroe pretty good in the 2003 Semifinals in Shreveport as well.

No they weren't. They lost in the quarterfinals in 2000. Brent Rawls was a Senior in 2000 and was playing at OU in 2001.

YOu are the man, but I am still losing it.

'95 St. Aug has to win the most stacked D-Line. Three of the four starters played in the NFL. I can't remember the fourth. I think he was also a D-1 prospect.

The 1990 Ruston team was loaded with major D1 players. Probably the most complete team I've ever seen
