Read this article and you will see that BU is a prima donna, wanting all the attention in the world. Harbaugh, arguably one of the great coaches (NFL & College), apparently didn't worship the kid earlier in high school. Sherrone Moore then had ground to make up in that regard. I smell a big rat pussy here, and it couldn't happen to a more deserving team, Michigan (the known cheaters).

How Sherrone Moore, Michigan fixed 'fractured' relationship with Bryce Underwood left by Jim Harbaugh

The top-ranked 2025 prospect said Harbaugh didn't make a priority at Michigan.

Michigan and head coach Sherrone Moore pulled off one of the decade's biggest recruiting heists, flipping elite quarterback Bryce Underwood from LSU. The Belleville (Mich.) product grew up fewer than 30 minutes from Ann Arbor but initially spurned the hometown Wolverines for Brian Kelly and LSU. Former Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh was a big reason why, according to national recruiting analysts Matt Zenitz and John Talty.

"Underwood's commitment capped multiple months of aggressive behind-the-scenes work that was spearheaded by Sherrone Moore and general manager Sean Magee as they had to overcome a relationship that was significantly fractured," Zenitz and Talty reported. "Underwood, who grew up wanting to play at Michigan, not being made to feel like a priority earlier in his high school career by former Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh and ex-Michigan quarterbacks coach Matt Weiss."

Underwood, the No. 1 overall prospect in the class of 2025 and the highest-rated offensive prospect to commit to commit to Michigan since 2000, expressed hurt feelings towards Harbaugh and Michigan in September.

"Michigan was going more down South to find more players instead of having what they have in their backyard," Underwood told CBS Sports. "That's what I was confused about."

A potential eight-figure NIL package for Underwood to flip to Michigan grabbed headlines in the days leading up to Thursday's bombshell announcement, overshadowing the importance of the five-star's secretive trip to Ann Arbor earlier this week.

"For multiple days, Moore and the Wolverines secretly hosted Underwood during their prep for Northwestern," Zenitz and Talty reported. "Moore had the blue-chip quarterback shadow him throughout the day, let him sit on meetings and gave thorough insight into everything the Wolverines were doing. Those days on campus essentially sealed it for Michigan. It ended with Underwood privately indicating to Moore on Wednesday that he planned to flip to the Wolverines and with him then making it public and official on Thursday."

National recruiting analyst Tom Loy downplayed the role of NIL in Underwood's recruitment. The prospect of being a hometown hero as opposed to another guy at LSU, which has fielded two Heisman winners at quarterback in the last five seasons, was reportedly a major selling point for the top-rated quarterback.

"This is your Day 1 starter next season in Ann Arbor," Loy said. "I don't believe this was a case where he picked the highest bidder, and I don't think this was a case where he needed any guarantees or reassurances. He was getting the money, no matter where he went. Bryce Underwood picked the place he wants to be athletically, academically and socially. It's where he sees himself thriving and where he sees himself being the happiest."

He took a massive NIL deal to stay thirty minutes from home. Boosters pay up for local kids, and we don’t have nearly the bench that Michigan does to call upon in that department.

Biggest lesson is don’t hitch your wagon to a guy 1300 miles away. We didn’t even get these guys pre NIL.

Yeah, sure...whatever makes you feel better about it lol

The kid stayed home and got more money... it's not Rocket Science. He did the same shite this board pushes Louisiana kids to do... stay in-state and play for the home team.

I'm upset just like the next fan, but stop looking for reason to shite on the kid. We flip kids all the time around this time of the year.

He's a Day 1 starter at Michigan. This board thinks he should come here and sit behind Nuss for a season.

If we are paying top dollar for a QB then it needs to be to a proven guy in the portal. The damn blue print is laid out for success at LSU so Kelly needs to quit trying to recreate the wheel.

1) Build an elite defense
2) Get 1-2 stud WR’s and put a couple decent ones out there to help
3) We have the TE’s
4) Build an above average Oline
5) Build a stable of elite RB’s
6) Get a smart QB out of the portal that can use their legs

That’s not hard with the talent in Louisiana, Texas and Florida. We’ve been doing this since Saban and Kelly is making this way harder than it needs to be. He came to LSU for the talent in Louisiana so keep it home, supplement the holes from Texas/Florida and use the portal wisel for proven talent.

I didn’t read that.

1. I still wanted him.
2. He’s not coming.
3. LSU will move on.
4. I don’t like to portray sour grapes.
5. Hope he does well.
6. I’d take the money too.
7. Hope he plays LSU and loses by one point on an awful ref decision.
8. Hope he then loses to LSU the next year by a huge blowout because he wanted revenge.
9. Recruiting is hilarious.

He could be the next Jayden Daniels or the next DJU. Most likely somewhere in between.

I think he would have done well here, but now I'm hoping the staff move to take that NIL money and spread it around on talent AND depth across the board.

I’d generally agree with this sentiment, but if it’s true that his camp didn’t even call the LSU staff to let them know, and they found out via Twitter like everyone else, he and his family are low rent and can choke on a bag of dicks.

Guys, I have moved on, just thought this article was relevant.
1-Harbaugh didn't worship at the BU altar, so he got butt-hurt
2-Tom Loy is a fricking joke with his non-NIL comments

Saw this with the Many kid a few years ago that was a supposed can’t miss prospect that went to USC. Didn’t work out so well for him.

Same for the QB in 2012 (#1 QB) committed to LSU only to switch last second to Brian Kelly and ND. He was a complete bust.

Almost always, these kids that complained of not getting enough love early have been complete busts.

Kids like this and their families are just awful people. Part of what is killing CFB.

Day 1 starter as a true freshman is a recipe for disaster.

I don’t have to “hope he does well” - don’t want him to be injured or anything but other wise, hope his career ends up being nothing but a disappointment
