With 4 less players than us. Everyone thought Herman wouldn't improve Texas quick was pretty much wrong

Recruiting plays a huge part in winning. The last 10 NC had a top 5 recruiting class expect for Clemson

First, Texas SHOULD have a top 10 class every year. It's the biggest school in a talent rich state, great tradition, money , and alumni. Second, it's June.

Recruit rankings change and people who may seem to be only 3*s now will get a big bump. Nelson Jenkins and Micah Baskerville are good examples of kids that are going to make a huge jump, I believe they both got invited to the opening.

...and the other 4 schools with top 5 recruiting classes in those years, were not NC winners. So a top 5 class gets you a 20% chance of winning the NC?.?.?..

To be honest this is massively premature.

Herman will probably do well at Texas, but it's way too soon to start panicking about his recruiting.

Did I sleep through football season?

And the jury is still out on Herman's recruiting chops. He's reeled in a couple kids who have wanted to go to UT their entire life, and the rankings right now mean jack shite. If he's able to FINISH with a top five class in his first full year, then you can suck his dick on the LSU recruiting board.

One thing I'm not worried about with this staff is recruiting. They did an incredible job with this year's class and will do even better in years to come.

Way to prove no point at all. There were very few people who thought Herman wouldn't recruit well at Texas and many were very much surprised that he couldn't pull off a top class last year like Ed O pulled off. The recruiting ranking argument is premature at best. We still haven't received some of our top recruits that are expected to commit and I've seen Texas sign many top classes then do nothing with them. Like someone also said some of our guys who committed have yet to go through their senior season or all the camps or all star games, things will change. I'm more concerned with LSU filling our needs and shoring up our depth. LSU will sign great players, I don't think anyone is concerned with that. It's Texas anyway so what?
