This and every coach that recruited him is gone. The kid is going to land at big program with what he thinks is a better path to play.

There’s no better path to playing time than basically an empty room.

lane would rather have a roster full of guys that have already had 500 plus yard receiving seasons under their belt than guys that have yet to show enough to get on the field on a bad offense.

like the hawaii receiver. we will land a lot of guys similar to that guy. guys with stats like the kid from hawaii.

The smoke from practice on the guy was that he was the next big thing. Yet he couldn't get on the field before Nic Anderson, Chris Hilton, or Destyn Hill. So idk how to feel about this

It’s because they hear Moscona talk about the sick one handed catch he made in fall camp. The vast majority of people on this board have never watched Taron Francis run a route.

Yep, played a lot like Juice Landry in high school. I thought he would be a really good player here once he learned the college game. This portal stuff gives me a headache with all the going and coming.

The room is soon to be filled with guys being paid a lot of money who have 2-3 years of experience.

End of the day its about value. Most likely, as with the OL, Francis values himself more than the staff does. That doesnt mean hes chasing a bag but just one bigger than we're offering. Lane is gonna value production over potential in that regard($). Hes a pure analytical guy. If Francis is willing to accept the value the staff has placed on him then he'd have the same opportunity the kids with production have. Lanes gonna play the best players. Doubt cost plays into that.
I dont disagree with the approach though im not an analytics fan but im also not a fan of paying kids huge money(relatively as they all make money) when they've done nothing to earn it but play hs ball.
Hopefully Francis comes around and proves hes better than the kids valued more than him. If not, bye.

Maybe if our quarterback could have played half decent this year these receivers wouldn’t be leaving.

This is a stupid arse take. We may be able to field legit players, but that guy was the next Louisiana star WR. To not even try to keep him was dumb.

He’s nothing special. Racey McMath type

McMath was a helluva lot faster than Francis. Francis will still be a decent slot/3rd down type of receiver.
