whoa hoss! I am as excited to see Fournet in our offense as you are...but I am not sure there are 2 levels above Hill as a college back!
Hill was a damn special back at LSU, one of the best ever IMO to ever run it for the Tigers. LF absolutely has the tools and everything it takes to be possibly the greatest ever, but I'm not sure that would be "two levels above Hill"
I sure as hell hope you are right!

I know it's misspelled but it fits. LF is as freightening as they come.

As long as he can run 100 yards,

Damn, LF ate up the track! WTF is Conroe Oak Ridge doing there? Used to own those white boys in 7 on 7 back in the day. Scrub-tastic program there haha

I'll be thrilled if he's as good as Jeremy Hill. because we only got JH for about 1.5 years of football. we get LF for twice that

Fournette ran a 10.68 in the 100 meters. Here is a conversion from the 100 into the 40 ( LINK):
10.2 --- 4.34
10.3 --- 4.38
10.4 --- 4.43
10.5 --- 4.49
10.6 --- 4.54
10.7 --- 4.58
10.8 --- 4.63
10.9 --- 4.75
11.0 --- 4.85
I think Fournette has improved his speed since he posted that time and he would consistently run in the 4.4s. At his size, that is scary.

Adrian Peterson ran a 4.40 at the combine at 6'1 220. He ran a 200m at 21.23s in highschool.
LF is 6'1 230 and his best 200m is 21.57s
Not sure of his 40, but he's fast.

I agree, TR. I just pray he stays healthy and performs as we expect.
May be tough sledding for him this season, though, since our passing game will likely not be scaring too many defenses. if he gets 1000, I'll call it a good season. 1200+ would be amazing.

You can't convert 100 times to 40 times
Chris Johnson can probably beat Usain Bolt in the 40

Randy Moss would've given him more of a challenge but still no.

Good lord. That looked roughly like if I were watching a race between a rhino and several gazelles with the rhino almost pulling out the victory.
21.78 at that size is pretty damned absurd. I mean, it aint world class, but it is at that size!!

I'm really not even going to try and guess but, the reality is, when you watch Bolt, it's those last 50m that separates him from the rest of the boys.
In the 40, acceleration to top speed is a significant factor. In the 100m, your ACTUAL top speed comes much more into play. In a 40, the slower guy can often take the guy with better top end speed. Hell, even the 100 vs the 200 has that issue but less significantly so. The 100 is the true test of human max speed.

quote:I'm not saying he doesn't, but it'd be hard to believe. Only four RBs at the NFL combine ran 4.45 or better this year, and only one of those ran sub 4.4. The biggest of those four guys was 216 pounds.
I'd say he runs in the low 4.4s, maybe breaking into the 4.3s
Fournette may turn out to be that fast - especially after 3 years of growth and proper collegiate speed and weight training - but he would be the best of the best if he did. Here's hoping!
ETA: Agree with all of this.
