She is in 8th grade, and will be attending ND next year it looks like.
LINK
And coaches do not contact 8th graders, or 9th or 10th. They contact the travel coaches and the coaches pass it along. The kid calls the coach(s) and that's it. A kid can call any college coach at any time. Said coach can answer or decline. Not sure how you limit that.

Sir, she is what, 14? She was just playing U12 last year at PGF. No one at 12 is a "program changer" for a program such as LSU.

We're still claiming this?
Call me what you will, I don't really give a shite. I told you all transfers before they happened, including Bourg, but I didn't share her name. I simply said "you'd be familiar with her" because she hadn't made it public. The only one I didn't "break" was the JUCO/CC kid. Congrats to 357 for scooping me on that one. I haven't trashed or insulted one player or coach. I do not have an agenda against anyone. My kids do not play for LSU Softball.
I simply share the info that I learn so other fans are informed. I drink & I know things, it's what I do.
Edit: Ash is also spot on about the starters being the ones who filed the complaint. The starters were sent a group text around mid-season because they were not doing enough extra work in the eyes of the coaches. The subs/bench players were out working them as far as extra hitting/fielding etc. A few starters picked up their efforts, but most did not, because they were not going to be sat anyways.
Again, I have no agenda. I would have loved to see a WCWS Title brought to Baton Rouge one of the last 3 years. Maybe it happens in the future

"I hate to say it, but good move by Dawson. This transfer has been known for quite some time but Dawson is not a social media starlet so it wasn't public until Baylor released it. I am not real sure why LSU didn't release it weeks ago when it happened. I seriously doubt we will hear any comment from her or her family regarding this situation.
The two infield transfers coming in are a result of her departure not the other way around.
Dawson was an upgrade at 2nd base from day 1 and should have been an immediate starter. This season, there was no competition for her position. She was told it was to difficult to bench Quinn so she would have to wait her turn and that production at that position didn't matter (this was apparent for the last 3 years).
It is one thing to be beat out, it is another to sit behind players who are not held to a production standard and are simply penciled in 'just because'. If Dawson would have been able to complete for a job and had been beat out she would not be transferring. The staff thought Dawson was purple and gold thru and thru and they could get by with whatever they wanted to do and she would always be around. She informed them otherwise at the end of the year. Total miss by the staff.
Dawson was never in trouble or any of the other things being thrown around. She was just put in an awful situation of not having a chance to compete for a job regardless of how well she performed and how poorly others performed. This would deflate any player. Dawson lost trust in the staff and it is easy to see why.
In retrospect, it is amazing she had the year that she did knowing, no matter what, she was not going to play. She still came out and battled without ever saying a word. I have much respect for her for that. It had to be incredibly difficult to go through this season under these circumstances.
Dawson loves LSU and her family love LSU but sometimes things don't work out and people have to make decisions to protect their interest. This was one of those situations. I wish her nothing but success at Baylor. The Bears got a good one." -
Coaches from other programs working LSU softball camps asked coaches, but also players about Dawson & Satchell (Smith as well I'm sure but there was film on her for them to review), there were more than a few players who told coaches that both were cheated. There was absolutely no reason either didn't play more, or start almost the entire season. If you can work your arse off every day and get minimal opportunities, why stay another year?

"Also coming from someone who is extremely close to the program and as someone who knows the entire staff and almost all managers and trainers and a lot of the players on a personal level. Beth Torina on the outskirts definitely looks like she plays favorites but she does significantly favor kids who work the hardest. We have had players transfer over the years for a couple reasons and many didn't see the time they wanted exactly for that reason. I'm not saying it applies to this specific situation but for all future recruits coming in, if you don't put in the work then don't bother coming. The staff doesn't put up with it at all.
I won't give names but a few players were constantly dismissed from practice this year for not coming prepared and because of their effort"
Sir, you are completely wrong. No one was "constantly dismissed from practices". Dawson was dismissed 0 times. Satchell 0 times. Smith - once when word leaked to Beth she was planning on transferring.

Here is your requested release. Now maybe, just maybe the things I say will be taken with some credibility, probably not though

It would be cool to have a sticky.
And while you may not believe me, I am not Mr Ducote. I do not know Mr Ducote, nor anyone in his family. In the end it doesn't matter much, but you can check all of the comments I've made about the transfers. I've told zero lies sir.

I don't keep up with releases and players social media. I just know what I know from reputable sources.
She visited at least 2 schools. Baylor offered $$$ and a chance to play 2B

Dawson is at Baylor now.

I completely understand what you're saying. I have never been impressed with her as a player, even back to the travel scene. She's serviceable imo, that's it.

Sanchez was a very high recruit according to you sir and she couldn't sniff .300 this year, but you're hoping a CC transfer will pull it off?
As for the talk of our recruiting. Football games and showing off football equipment (weight room etc) is a huge sale. Tiger Park is beautiful, but as for softball facilities, we are behind quite a few lesser programs. The indoor hitting facility was supposed to be finished 2 years ago and it hasn't even broke ground.
Staff/Player management cost us 3 very good players this year. It almost cost more, but it's hard to give up 100% athletic money scholarships even when you only played in a handful of games.

The late bloomers go to JUCO or CC etc then transfer into a D1 after 2 years.
The 4 year scholarship is supposed to help in some ways. Coaches have to offer the same % the players Freshman and Senior years but it can be different the Sophomore & Junior years. So if a coach offers a kid 4 years at 100% and they don't pan out, then that's a lot of wasted money. It is supposed to be very hard to reduce the scholarship the way it is setup now. Not sure if it will actually work to reduce the recruitment age, but I'd bet it increases transfer activity at least.

Awesome
She deserves a chance to show what she's capable of. I thought she and Dawson might end up at Baylor at first.

UGA will just get transfers. Not uncommon for them.
Auburn will be fine because he's recruited very well, and coaches even better.
