With these players that commit and then leave for bama on signing day.
My guess is nothing but considering we need to beat bama to win the west this is why people keep talking about bama in connection with LSU. I am thankful for the players that do commit but until we have elite recruiting on both lines in numbers then you won’t beat them consistently. O said this himself in 2018 when bama won 29-0.

I know I am a negatiger...germans, etc.

Make the playoffs every year but 1 year

Win 10-11 games every year

Create a winning culture

I agree but this is the chicken and the egg argument. We can’t get players until we win but we need the players to win. I have talked to non LSU fans and this is how they see it. LSU lucked out by getting Brady and burrow and put together one great season. But now with them gone in addition to aranda and players we are back to pre 2018 season where bama will be kicking our arse yearly.

I know what I think. Nothing will change till Saban is gone. Just curious what others think. Let the downvotes rain down

i mean, frick, what can he do? for now, we're still basically in a Barkley vs Jordan kinda thing, we're fricking awesome, and its nothing but bad luck that we happen to be in the same division as the best to ever do it.

that mother fricker aint Thanos though, the right team can stomp his arse, and we know what that team does and does not look like.

after Brady left there was talk Curtis Johnson and Joe Lombardi were on the list to replace him. If Slinger steps aside and we get a real OC, someone who knows the exact offense Brady did, that would be a massive step in the right direction, IMO.

saban is 70 now, if we beat his arse at home, again, at some point it stops being worth the effort.

Weaver, you’re a clown.

LSU just had the #3 or #4 class in the country with the NCAA breathing down our neck.

Alabama and Saban are going to have the same resumes no matter what Orgeron does. The potential for flips to Alabama and other schools isn’t going to just disappear.

We’re in the top 7 classes virtually every year. With the exception of last year, where has that gotten us?

OL, DL and super duper special players are all that really matteron this.

OL and the super special and key guys from Louisiana hurt the most, like Cameron R and Devote Smith.

We are up against the best program ever.

It's a reality we must face and manage as best as possible

No one is beating or out recruiting Bama consistently. This isn’t a LSU problem it’s a college football problem. They are the best right now and until Saban retires they will continue to be the best. Orgeron can’t flip the script of a 300 page book on page 275.

100%
Orgeron and staff built the best team in the history of the sport, three great recruiting classes, and the criticism never ceases.
Sure recruits change their minds. How many did we flip to fill holes on signing day.
Covid coupled with coaching/system changes gave us a gut punch but we seem to be recovering quickly.
who knows what tomorrow brings, but I,excited about 2021, with Brennan, Johnson, and Finley throwing to Butte and More.
When was the last time we were so deep in quality QBs?

Exactly. I’m thankful and giddy about LSU winning 3 national championships in 16 years. Most programs have never done that.

And another thing - why is 2018 never mentioned as a good year under Orgeron? Sure, the Bama shutout loss sucked, but we finished #6 w/ a New Years 6 win. Close loss in the swamp and we were robbed at A&M.

Some folks act like outside of 2019, we have sucked under O.

I’m just tired of being Saban’s Bitch. Dabo figures it out. Yes I know it’s the acc and if Clemson was in the sec they wouldn’t do any better than LSU. They do appear to be recruiting at a better clip on the lines though or at least developing those guys.

"LSU lucked out by getting Brady and burrow and put together one great season"

Brady did well but it undoubtedly wasn't "LSU lucking out". It can't be over looked that we had 3 1st round caliber receivers and 1st round running back alongside him. Not to mention two 1st round line-backers ect.

What should be learned is that we need a good quarterback first and foremost.

Thankfully, it seems Burrow may have lifted our recruiting at that position

I can’t emphasize enough how much I don’t give a frick what other fans think of the program.

Oh no! Lesser programs like aggy and ole miss think we’re gonna take a step back!

What did they say before 2019? I’m sure none of them gave O a chance then either.

Saban & bama are kicking everyone's butt,on the field & in recruiting, and, unfortunately will continue to be a force as long as he is there. But why is Coach O the only HC being held to his standards?
