We had him listed at cornerback but he had a great game last night.

Acadiana appeared to have some life as quarterback Caden DiBetta connected on a 37-yard touchdown pass to Jonah Gauthier as time expired in the first half to pull within a score of Lafayette Christian.

But the Knights live by an "all gas, no breaks" mantra and any momentum the Wreckin' Rams had going into the locker room quickly evaporated when LCA senior quarterback and LSU commit Ju'Juan Johnson ripped off a 77-yard TD run on the first play of the third quarter.

quote:

While the lead changed four times in the first half, Johnson kept throwing haymakers for the Knights, accounting for his team's first eight TDs on the night — four passing and four rushing.

"We always say, 'all gas, no brakes,'" said Johnson, sporting a nasty gash across his forehead that he sustained on a play where his helmet was pulled out in the second quarter. "No matter the competition, from the highest seed to the lowest, we always keep going."

No. He's not an SEC caliber QB.

He looks great with the ball in his hands. Perhaps WR, but hes not a QB at the next level, or as a professional.

A better question may be "WHY"?

Not going to be QB at LSU but I love that he has QB play under his belt as a CB.

Look up his stats from last year. After that amazing production both LSU and Colorado recruited him at DB.

He is the epitome of the best athlete playing QB for you in HS. If he were going to a Sunbelt school, maybe. If LSU didn't already have QBs as good or better than Johnson at actually throwing the ball, probably. But I've seen Ju'Juan play a lot and will again this year. I also saw Ricky Collins play against LCA. Collins is a better passer than Howard by a bit based on the game I saw but Johnson had a better team around him and much better receivers as a whole.

He also wants to play DB, I'm fairly certain.

He’s a great athlete who has to play DB or receiver. What did you see that leads you to believe the answer is WR? Does he have great hands?

If it’s running ability, that is necessary for both DB and WR.

Lots of position players in college played qb in hs… think Jontre Kirkland. So nah, his future in football is DB

Not if his end goal is to play in the NFL.

Everyone remembers that Russell Shepherd was a HS QB but not may remember that Rueben Randle and Joseph Addai were as well.

Laron Landry, Corey Webster, and Early Doucet were quarterbacks as well.

I see him as a Travis Hunter type. Maybe not so much used on offense, but an occasional player at slot or wildcat quarterback who gives the defense much to think about.

He’ll have a run/pass package for goal line situations

Honestly he could be a great college quarterback.

He’s def as good an athlete as Johnny Manziel
or Bryce Young.

Russ Wilson and K Murray come to mind.
