Well, I would hope so considering the entire fan base knows this as well

Clay Webb’s hometown is 40 miles from Georgia
Mays is from Knoxville
Isaiah Wilson was recruited in 2016
None of those guys are from the last 2 years

Doesn’t matter what OL they pull in if they aren’t beasts already because Cregg can’t coach a raw recruit to get out of a wet paper bag. His history of developing raw and young OL is atrocious for all the praise he gets.
Add in that his recruiting at the position has been awful and you realize he is just one of O’s USC buddies.
His resume is not as impressive as some would like to believe.

All of those are part of Kirbys recruiting classes
All of those are out of state. You specifically said they were all coming from Georgia.
Since we're going off proximity like you want to play. Why aren't we getting 5*s from Texas?

He can’t recruit like Grimes that much is obvious.

I was of course being a little hyperbolic saying they ALL came from GA. Since this is a college football message board, I should have predicted the outrage my actions have caused, so I will amend my statement.
Most come from Georgia or the surrounding area. I believe Georgia’s natural geographic advantage is a major portion of their OL recruiting success, something few other teams have (including LSU, Alabama, Clemson). Because of this I would say Bama, Clemson, and Ohio State, who pull 5 stars predominantly from out of state, recruit better. Georgia would be in the next tier with teams like Oklahoma and Oregon off the top of my head. Still better than LSU

Cushenberry was around 1500 overall in his class, and developed into a stud. Damien Lewis was a low rated juco with his best offers being ole miss and scar. All hes done is develop guys , the issue is we don't have the elite already ready guy, the opposite of your post. Or just that the 3 on the roster, dumervil, Bradford, kardell havent made that big step to contributing yet. Kardell broke his ankle, but let me guess, its creggs fault. Also creggs fault he and Bradford are 25 lbs over weight I'm sure. Our players get the least amount of blame I've ever seen in sports.
The whiffs on the big names this year is enough to be fireable for sure, but making up realities that aren't there is just venting from a shite year.

Let him whiff first. Recruiting is not over.

I think every school is saying the exact same thing after bamas haul...

LSU will be in a serious bind in 2022, if Orgeron doesn’t some sign damn linemen. One area that’s toughest to start as a freshman.

Mays is no longer at UGA because Kirby fricked up handling his dad after the finger cut off (at least partially) by the chair incident. He’s at UT now. It doesn’t matter how you recruit out of state if you can’t hold onto them.
I realize this is an edge case, but most UT fans believe the chair thing was just an excuse to get a waiver. Mays transferred because he didn’t like it there and decided he would rather play with his brother at UT.

Development on the O Line has been uneven, to say the least. Look at how many supposed busts or transfers we’ve had. Go ahead and blame Kardell’s issues on his injuries, but we needed Bradford to contribute this year and he doesn’t have the same injury excuse.
Worse yet, Hines and Deculus are as experienced as you can ask for, but they did not play well at all this year. This is the most damning strike against Cregg. If he can’t build a line with a couple of guys who have that much SEC experience, then we have a problem.

The portal will change recruiting permanently.
With the difficulty in scouting offensive linemen, I would consider recruiting only high-level OL recruits, and fill in the gaps with transfers. Let someone else take the risk on development players.

It’s a position that needs cohesion. I’d rather have a good evaluator than that philosophy.

You need good evaluators. Pick the ones you want, but if you miss don’t take projects.
They can pan out, but they have a high failure rate.
I’m just saying fill in the holes with transfers. It’s a better use of scholarships to plug in a starter.

You have a good point there.
Only thing is most of the transfers only have a year.
If you can get one with 2 or 3 years and he is ready to step in then yeah do it.
Thing is you need to find a coach that can teach and knows what he wants in an o linemen.
