Was it #1 on the “break the TD recruiting site” or was it Joe McKnight ?

Probably this one honestly. Negative things draw a bigger reaction.

IIRC Trent Richardson was a possible signing day flip

I think 2 for 5 was bigger. I don't think Benton/Randle was that huge. Gunnar Kiel was huge too, especially since he prevented Patrick Miller from enrolling.

2 for 5 changed this site for the better. All year long everyone was acting like all 5 recruits were guaranteed lsu locks, and that went to shite afterwards.

That being said, 2 for 5 ended up working out well for us since we signed the best 2 out of those 5. Gerald willis

The 5 for 5 melt silenced all the recruiting know alls(so they thought). The diva attitude of some of these 5* was in full effect. I do think also that it was for the best on this recruiting board.

It wasn't exactly football recruiting, but Zach Lee caused a pretty big meltdown as well - crashed the system for about 15 minutes.

Joe McKnight was quite the melt.

Losing Landon Collins to bama caused a massive meltdown. Last year when Marvin Wilson went FSU was a pretty salty melt as well.

When BUGA committed here that might’ve been the most trafficked/busiest day in TD history.

McKnight was legit. Randle signing was huge in a good way.

I also remember Bower signing with Florida and them telling him they had no room for him. Then the arguing over what actually happened about that.

Someone responding that didn't actually happen in 3, 2 .....

Jordan Jefferson's fight outside the bar was the best to me. We had the story before the police that collected 100 pairs of tennis shoes.

I think the #5/5 fiasco was the most turmoil this site has ever experienced. McKnight being a close second.

Many people, myself included, stopped following recruiting as much after that whole deal

McKnight easily. The bash was rocking prior to his announcement. Sort of cast a dark cloud over the event. He told LSU and fanbase to go Eff themselves.

5/5

It lifted the veil off the so called experts and the reactions of people who were baffled was a sight to behold

In retrospect it turned out to be in LSUs favor

I will say this though, that was one of the worst punches to the gut the “experts” ever received. Those, as well as other players, coaches, and family members were told one thing by those recruits, only to be slapped in the face when the commitments came down. Lies were straight up fed to anyone and everyone that had ears and a means to recite them.

Karma caught up with all of those involved that day, IMO. LSU was definitely better off in the long run, but many people, with legitimate sources, have been gun shy ever since.
