From Alabama. Should we offer him? Nice size for a linebacker

Do you think offering someone the day that the dead period sets in would be very successful?

Y'all do realize signing day is Wednesday and he's never visited campus

Decommitting this late, he might wait until after signing day. He's been committed to Bama for a long time, so he may not have a great feel for anywhere else. It really sucks that Bama waited so late to drop this on him.

If he commits before signing day, it will probably be to UGA, because he is surely familiar with Smart through his long commitment to Bama.

3 star from Alabama... If we get all the people we target then I would say no. If we miss on someone and have room then I would say maybe depending on who else is out there we are looking at. Right now he is probably a real motivated seller.

It isn't like Bama told him to kiss off. They offered him a greyshirt, so they were willing to give him a spot next year.

They do a pretty good job scouting LBs over there, so I think it's a pretty safe bet they his lack of offers is due to his long commitment and the fact that he's an Alabama resident. Why bother spending time on a guy who you have little to no shot at?

Offering a guy a grey shirt is telling him to piss off though. They have no obligation to the young man to offer him a scholarship the next semester. If they sign four 5* linebackers next year, you really think they're going to open a spot for him?

He was processed by little Nickey. Plain and simple. I feel terrible for the guys this happens to so late in the game.

It is fricking shitty, plain and simple. Petrino did it a kid from here last year just like this, and he was fricked. Ended up at South Alabama, had offers from Vandy Uk, etc. but they were full.

Not the way at works. Greyshirts only defer enrollment for one semester before joining the team on full scholarship. You won't find an instance of a greyshirt not being honored. LSU offers greyshirts frequently.

It's not the greyshirt offer that folks take issue with, it's the timing of it.

And it wouldn't sit well with me even if LSU were to do something like this.

Bama making room...

Except they only had 18 commits.

So if theyre processing even with such low numbers of commits, they must be expecting a big haul Wednesday.

Keeping Fowler just became that much more important.

I would offer the kid just due to the fact that he has a major case of the screaming reds right now with Alabama. Dude is pissed off!!

I anxiously await the hit piece from ESPN about the sleazy world of collegiate recruiting and how Nicky is a sleeze.
