I think for Haleigh, she got injured on the second pass. I think she would’ve been fine. Maybe they can switch the passes around . Aleah is capable of a double twist so maybe the blind landing is not necessary for her.

Balancebeamsituation says she still got a 10.0 start even with the changed composition. She usually does 0.4 bonus more than necessary for a 10.0 start.

Yep . Kiya had lack of landing control on her first pass and maybe some form deductions taken throughout? Not sure

Ashley Cowan, one of LSU's incoming freshmen IMO is gonna get some looks early in the bars lineup early next year, she has been terrific so far this JO season, sweeping all the bar titles and winning the bars title last night at the WOGA classic, scoring a 9.825. Pointed toes, just good form on bars and has a nice double layout.
She definitely could have went elsewhere on scholarship so we are lucky to be getting her gymnastics as a walk on.

She actually has a full twisting double layout dismount which is even better and more difficult than a regular double layout. I’m glad she chose to come here especially after switching her commitment from Missouri on a scholarship l

Road to Nationals
"For those who have been wondering, the NQS (women) this year will be the same formula typically used in years past (top 6 scores, 3 must be away, drop high, avg remaining 5 scores). The first rankings to be ordered by NQS will be released on Feb 21st."
I hope we can get several more good road scores. Time for the RQS is coming up soon.

Yeh I saw that so we need at least 2 more away mid 197 or higher and at least 2 more usable home meet scores. Know we can do it but will need to be on in majority of meets remaining

Has anyone heard what the status is on injuries for Kiya and Haleigh? We need their help this weekend if possible. You can never take for granted a meet with Bama. Also, Sunday's meet will not be a breeze going to Missouri. It has always been a challenge for some reason.

Three US national team members in one class

Can you give us their names for reference?

Alyona is unavailable this weekend due to knee pain. Kudos to Jay for being open and honest during interviews. Going to be a tough weekend managing multiple injuries and two meets

This isn’t great. I had wondered why she was out of vault these last weeks and assumed it was her knee (based just on visual). We need some huge scores this weekend, similar to the last few, so there is not as much stress going into the last month of the regular season.
They have been looking much better! I am hopeful they are up to the task this weekend! A bright side is maybe Aleah on bars then?

Rough time with the health concerns to the three AAers (Haleigh, Alyona, and Kiya). On the bright side, it will be good to see some of the other scoring options get a chance. Hope to see more Dunne, Arenas, Finnegan, and the sophomores generally.

This is the weekend we will really need to develop that depth and get certain routines out there.
Honestly I would love to see KJ debut her double at home verses Alabama, we are nearing mid season and you are at home, I think this would be the perfect time to do it instead of on the road. The 10.0 vaults have to start get going IMO.
Ideally for post season:
Edwards (1.5)
Alyona (1.5)
KJ Johnson (double)
Bryant (Front Pike half)
Kiya (Double)
That would put us at five 10.0 vaults, which is much more in line with what we need than having 3 fulls in the lineup. I think Jay was really wanting Tatum to get in at some point as her 1.5 was coming along before the injury. He said he still hopes to debut it by the end of the year.

You know if we are going to make up our missed meets?
Posted on 2/15/22 at 9:34 pm to SLIPSHITE
We are making up our missed meets this Sunday in a tri-meet at Missouri with Arkansas. Looks like we will have one less home meet this season.

Not sure if she is up to it, but does Aleah have a 1.5 on vault?
Posted on 2/16/22 at 2:48 am to LauraGB
Yes she used to do it in elite

And it was pretty good! I feel like it should make an appearance - I think someone above mentioned that Jay said it wasn’t consistent as of yet.
How about Ryan - I think I saw she did a full in the inter squad a few weeks ago, so did they give up on that project - when she landed it it was amazing.
