Absolutely, Poncho's 31 HRs is a Louisiana state record. They must play in a tiny park compared to most softball venues.

Poncho is an incredibly strong athlete. The only knock is they do not play the best competition so numbers will be artificially inflated. That issue can be applied to a lot of athletes and programs depending on where and who they play. What she faces on normal weekends isn't the same caliber say a kid in southern Cali is facing weekly.
That said she is talented and a very good hitter. Its no coincidence she is hearing from Florida St, Alabama, and many many other major programs. Hope we can keep her home

I haven't heard specifics on Storako but I am assuming they are, she is the best pitcher on market but every program in America is probably going after her.
Someone mentioned she was going to visit Florida and a few other schools.

Probably at least as much as we are paying Kim Mulkey (if we are really serious about softball). Other than the money, Gasso has no reason to leave OU, IMO

JT? He is terrific hitting coach but certainly not worth Kim Mulkey money given he has no track record as a HC. Patty is best coach in college softball, they have completely dominated recruiting the last 7-8 years but their development across the board is top notch.
He will get an attractive salary for whatever school wants to bring him in as a HC but he certainly won't be breaking the bank either just because he is an assistant coach at the top program in the country.

It's the development piece that I am interested in. Patty and Jen consistently bring in some of the best players in the country, but once they are in Norman they are on a whole other level. There is no denying that even some of the best hitters in the country are still able to improve and make adjustments to their game over the course of their careers. That is JT.
I dont know if I would immediately go after him as a HC at a power 5 school and definitely not for a top 5 salary, but it might be worth exploring it and seeing what it would take to get him to leave. I have a hard time believing he would leave if he is content being an assistant, but at least have the conversation and see if he even wants to be a HC in the future.

Yanez from Oregon is now in the portal. She sat out this year due to injury but has one more year left to play. Would be a nice addition. I think she was a Mike White recruit so he may have the inside.
