That’s very reminiscent of Hambricks full in. She always timed the release so well that she had so much time to spot the landing. I absolutely loved her bars dismount. I think Dunne could get this just as consistent after a year of competing it.

Who’s the girl with the big black knee brace? I also noticed I think it was Sami in one of the Instagram posts from over the weekend had a lot of knee tape-is she doing ok?

The one in the black knew brace is Caitlin. Also as for Bailey: based on her RETIREMENT post, I’m under the impression that she’s completely done with gymnastics and has moved on to other things in her life. She seems to be very focused on getting her degree in Social Work right now and that’s that

Has anyone seen the meltdown in the gymnastics reddit about LSU gym's social media posts without masks - a Utah gymnast (and former elite) called out LSU for not having appropriate pandemic-related safety measures.
A lot of comments about how uneducated and stupid we are down here. Also, I have read a few articles about what they are doing, and they are taking precautions. The gymternet can be so crazy.

I saw that and honestly it kind of pissed me off.
Ultimately at the end of the day, I believe it’s at the coaches discretion the way practices are run within the team and if they are taking the proper precautions of getting tested and basically just interacting with each other as a form of social distancing, I don’t see an issue with it and people need to mind their own damn business.
I’m saying all this as a 23 year old who’s also a youth track club coach. The governing organization for my club that we compete under has actually declared it unsafe for youth and young adult athletes to exercise with a mask on, because it restricts the flow of oxygen, thus impacting their breathing. I can imagine the same is true with gymnastics, coupled with the fact that if the mask slips on their face mid skill, it could potentially be more dangerous for the athlete than not wearing a mask in that environment.
I’m sure Jay, Bob, ACK, or Bugs would tell the girls to stop coming in to practices if someone became symptomatic or tested positive and would reinstate the quarantine protocols. Those coaches are not stupid and care about their athletes health and safety so what they choose to do in terms of how they decide to run practices should be no one’s business but their own but unfortunately I guess in the world we live in today, everyone HAS to have an opinion on anything and everything everyone does

I’m waiting for Jay to set the record straight. I doubt he’ll address but he seems like a no bullshite kind of guy. Either what an irresponsible thing to say on O’Keefe’s part. She has zero knowledge on LSU’s protocols.

LSU test their athletes multiple times weekly before entering the facility. They aren't allowed inside if they are positive or have any symptoms, which then they are required to self quarantine. They installed a 100,000 dollar air system called CASPER which kills airborne passages and things on surfaces. They are utilizing magnesium bicarbonate chalk which viruses do not do well in and obviously have normal cleaning maintenance. The athletes spend 90% of their time in the facility and live with each other.
It was a bitch move by Malie, the irony is multiple Utah gymnasts went to a party last week without wearing a mask or social distancing. If there isn't a gymnastics season, it isn't because LSU gymnasts huddled for three seconds in their own facility. You can't take the gymternet seriously with these asinine comments.
The way the PAC 12 is heading, doubt they have gymnastics season when the money maker (football) is doubtful to play. Who's gonna fund all these non revenue sports?

Currently reading through the FB post about it. I can’t believe how dramatic people still are regarding COVID. I agree tho, what a bitch move by O’Keefe.

People have had it out for LSU for years. Just ignore the negativity.
In other news, Kai is slowly making a comeback from injuries. She had a broken foot and torn labrum. Hopefully they’ll pace her in her recovery. No need to rush her back due to depth in all events.

People have had it out for LSU for years because they are the next team to break into the National Championship club. A club, until recently, that only included 4 schools and still only included 6. No surprise this comes from a school in that group, even though they haven’t been in contention for many years.

I think Olivia is a beautiful gymnast and I’m super excited about her being a tiger but her “fans” are already on my nerves. Is this just me?

I knew this would be brought up at some point
Whenever she is posted on LSU's Gym social media, there are a bunch of random comments "I'm only here for Liv" comments. The comment section has become a shite show

None of it is Olivia's fault though

YOURE NOT THE ONLY ONE

Sydney Soloski from Utah also took a shot at LSU on social media but then removed it.

I’ve never been a fan of Utah gymnastics. Ever. Their gymnasts have always been arrogant. But I think the main issue here is that there may not be a season for the PAC-12, and this is the gymnasts way of acting out in frustration. Some are still probably mad that their undefeated season this year was basically wasted due to COVID-19. I think there may also be some jealously here of the SEC. Just my thoughts.

Actually they really aren’t blah anymore, but I did snicker at that nickname years ago

I definitely agree with you about the arrogance. Especially since last season Florida and OU also had undefeated seasons, but you don’t hear or see them complaining about the way the season ended or taking it out on LSU or any other SEC school. Instead they have a totally different mindset of looking ahead to the 2021 season and what they can do next year instead of dwelling on the past
