So Florida now has commits from
-Sloane Blakely (Senior Elite)
- Morgan Hurd (US National Team Member)
- Riley McCusker (US National Team Member)
- Shilese Jones (US National Team Member)
- Leanne Wong (US National Team Member)
-Sophia Butler (US National Team Member)
- Olivia Greaves (US National Team Member)
-JaFree Scott (Senior Elite)
-kayla dicello (US National team member)

They are also likely to get Skye Blakely (sister of Sloane) who Is also on the national team.

Florida will have a significant margin of talent compared to the rest of the country these next few years. I don't know how it would be possible to not win a natty with this level of talent. Jenny would have to royally frick up for it to not happen. Although given her past history, its certainly possible.

The thing is Jenny had had the talent to win a national championship since she took over for Rhonda Faehn. In fact the team she had her first year as head coach SHOULDVE honestly won nationals considering they basically only gained 2 new girls from the previous year (Peyton Ernst and Alicia Boren) but still only managed to finish 4th. The following year, they had 3/4 girls who competed in the national team for their respective countries (Amelia and Rachel for the US and Maegan for Canada) and basically the same thing the next two years with almost their entire recruiting classes being former national team members. No hate whatsoever to her but: If she couldn’t get at least one national and SEC championship by now with all the talent she has on her squad who already are polished elite gymnasts, especially since college gymnastics is far less intense on the body in terms of the hours spent training with decreased difficulty routines, makes me wonder why girls keep committing to UF aside from the weather being a huge draw to Florida and it makes me wonder if she’ll ever be able to win one

I’ve been reading some pretty crazy stuff on social media. Keep in mind that Jenny has yet to accomplish anything besides SEC Championships at Florida. Those three national titles were won with Rhonda Faehn as head coach.

Additionally, don’t forget that stockpiling a bunch of elites/world champions does not guarantee multiple national titles. Ask Miss Val, who only won one with Ross, Kocian, Lee, Ohashi, etc. Just don’t want people to start overreacting to Florida’s signing class.

If it wasn't for Peng Peng Lee having the meet of her life, scoring two perfect 10's, UCLA doesn't win that title.

My advice is just look at OU. OU is the gold standard when it comes to winning, consistency and scoring well. You can win with a nice mix of elites and level 10s. Focus on smart routine construction and fine tuning (technique).

We are in good hands the next few years. Haleigh and Kiya will be exceptional all-arounders. Aleah obviously is on the way and will be big but the supporting cast with depth is really good across the board. Hopefully we can pick up Selena to compliment Lilly in 2022 and sign a big class in 2023.

And that 10 on beam wasn’t a 10 IMO for Lee.

Keep in mid..... if Riley, Morgan or Wong made the olympic team. They could still go pro if they choose.

What is happening with Shilese Jones ? Could she still be a possibility for lsu.? I see in her insta bio that she still says future Florida gator but no year. I think she was supposed to go this year originally and then deferred to next year but did not sign her scholarship? There doesn’t look to be a scholarship available anymore for Florida next year so is she going to walk on - surely not ?? But I guess it’s likely that one of Morgan Riley or Leanne will make Olympic team so a scholarship becomes available. However I wouldn’t want to be a second choice ? Is there any chance we could be in the running with Shilese ?

I can’t see either of them going pro. I think Morgan, if she was to go pro, would have gone pro in 2017 when she won the World Championship. Riley is not very marketable in my opinion. She’s had a ton of injuries. This extra year of training elite can’t be good for her body. And Leanne, while she’s marketable, I would say her only option going pro is making the Olympic team. She’s hasn’t really proved anything yet. I still feel she’s still behind a lot of gymnasts in the pecking order. I feel that Eaker and McCallum are ahead of her right now because they both have made a World Championship team.

How many go pro just from competing at worlds? Usually most do when they are Olympian’s.

I agree with Riley in terms of not being marketable. She ends up at Florida imo.

Leanne added an amanar. It all comes down to how she hits her updrades this year but the talent and the routines are there to make it.

Morgan would be the only one I could see going pro but that would all hinge on making the Olympic team and winning the team gold.

I’ve been to Gainesville, and there’s nothing going on there. I can’t imagine living there for 4 years. Not that Baton Rouge is L.A., but Gainesville is not a big draw, I don’t care what the weather is.

Why hasn't the best in the country state of the art gymnastics facility not benefitted LSU in the same way? Add an incredible intro and a sold out Assembly Center and LSU should be the primary destination for recruits.

tigersbb.....I wonder the same thing. Hopefully, Jay will do a great job and Ashley will also bring something new to the table. Maybe new blood and a reboot will have girls lining up to come here lol. Not that we haven’t gotten some great girls! But it’s like Florida has some secret weapon when it comes to recruiting.

Here are Florida's facilities

vs LSU

My sources said she wanted to go to a top academic and gymnastics program. Florida and UCLA obviously made the most sense. Florida was prob more of a fit than UCLA culture wise

Ummm. No offense, LSU alums but maybe the girls actually care about academics??

UF is 6th rated public university. LSU isn’t in the top 50...

I think Annie and Lilly are both 2022 now. Both list LSU commit 2022 in their Instagram profiles.

Also, looking at the scholarship situation, I don’t think LSU has one open in 2023 for Harris (or anyone else). Kiya, Rivers, Alyona, Smith, Bryant, Dunne, Arenas, Finnegan, Tatum, Kaytlyn Johnson, Lippeatt, and Beard round out the twelve scholarships. Can’t see them pulling someone’s scholarship other than for a medical retirement.

Was happy to see easier leap series on beam from Friday’s intrasquad. The team looked great!
