Have you heard any news as to when recruits are going to be on campus?

Zoe Miller is supposed to visit pretty soon. Not sure about her teammate Amari Drayton schedule although that would be a nice package deal.

One thing I have seen so far is that Garrett has a pretty extensive role in recruiting. Obviously Jay is still very involved but Garrett has been given a lot of lead recruiting responsibilities since joining. I'm excited to see how that goes as he seems to be very close with a lot of the top elite gymnasts in the 23 and 24 classes. Obviously adding someone like Konnor will also help recruiting as well. One gymnast in particular has had growing interest in LSU is a elite gymnast from WOGA, Kaliya Lincoln. Konnor is already recruiting for LSU which is pretty awesome.

Lilly just announced her retirement from elite and will do Level 10 her senior year before LSU.

Also liking Aleah's bar combos. Cool to see other combinations than the norm. Don't see much variation in NCAA.

I really like when they step back from elite before college. It seems to really help their bodies.

That is awesome - just not crazy about those flexed feet at the bottom of the catch. Hopefully she’ll get that worked out in the next few months.

I actually realized the other day, Jay likes to combine transitions to the low bar (or to the high) with a combo to remove an extra handstand and another possible deduction. As much as we talk about routine construction here, i think we need to give him props since he is making a solid decision here with the talent of his athletes.

Rewatching Aleah’s combo above, i think that flex isn’t bad form as much as it is learning where her regrasp point is and not slamming her toes on the low bar. The flex definitely looks deliberate so i can FULLY respect that. As Tigerbait said, kudos to both Aleah and Jay for working a different combo!!

She is also coming off an injury/surgery. I expect everything to clean up soon with more reps. She just started back on beam this week. I am not worried about her at all.

I also saw Kylie Coen was visiting Florida this past weekend, I forget if she’s on our target list but seems like a pretty talented kid.

Kylie is one of the top level 10 kids out there. Very polished all arounder.

It looks like LSU may have 2-3 scholarships open for the 2023-2024 season (Konnor’s class). Is that correct or am I miscalculating? Of course I haven’t considered if any of the walk-ons will be awarded a scholarship. Interesting to see what they do with those.

I’m hearing noise that Arkansas is targeting the WCC gymnasts rather hard. Mainly Amari and Zoey. Kind of figures since they got Leah Smith.

Haven't heard an official date yet but I do know for a fact Jay has been high on her recruitment like Konnor for quite a while now. Usually when Jay is all over a recruitment like that, more times than not good things happen

I don't doubt that, I mean most programs in the country are going after those two pretty hard. Very talented gymnasts.

Did y'all see K. Johnson's vault? Thats gonna be one helluva double....

Imagine 2 doubles and a front pike half in the lineup... And then the rest are 1.5s

She gets so much height on her vault. Interesting to see who makes the vault lineup. I’d rather see six 10.0 sv vaults, but I know it’ll be hard keeping the SEC co-champ out of the lineup.

We have many fulls that can all score 9.95's when they hit them the way they are capable of.

At the same time, they need to look at the big picture. Who can score the highest on a consistent basis and what is their scoring potential? When you get to nationals, vaults and other routines are picked at much more closely and those with higher scoring potentially have historically scored better. Competition should be interesting though.

So are Kai and Livvy’s boot statuses only precautionary from last year?

Most the time it’s precautionary. Especially if they are walking around campus. Dunne and Kai historically dealt with a lot of lower leg injuries so wouldn’t be surprised if cautionary.
