We all agree that LSU softball needs to do better however Florida didn't host a regional. When evaluating whether to fire someone you have better have a better replacement in place..I dont see that person coming to LSU that why I asked the question. LSU has elite players coming in including a top ranked pitcher, Berzon will get better so the future is bright imo. JT Gasso was mentioned, he may be a great hc 1 day but I didn't know LSU hired a unproven maybe. There is only 1 "Mulkey" and she aint coming.

Four World Series doesn’t guarantee a job for life. Miles comparisons is spot on. The last few years we’ve seen a decline. I don’t see it improving with the same nuclear coming back. Hopefully the new assistant can bring some change to the program.

Oklahoma State will be good, but never elite with that clown in charge. I pray he never coaches a second at LSU.

Wow always thought he was a good coach but what is the word on the OSU coach?

Two of his pitchers have transferred out. His pitching coach who is one of the best in the country retired (locals think he was run out) and hired a former teammate of those pitchers who can't stand her...
That tells me a lot..

Locals think all they want JB wasn't run out, my guess is he RAN out of the sleazy program KG is running..Bargfeldt is a high integrity guy who ALWAYS does things correctly...

There's been a lot of back & forth movement on our previous subject... then at the last second a new major player swooped in and now I have no idea what's going to happen.
ADD... Patty Gasso just tweeted "Boomer Sooner"... we had her.. crap.

Torina and Miles comparisons are miles apart.
Miles inherited a team that had won a NC two years prior and was built to keep running.
Torina inherited a team that hadn’t been to the WCWS in 8 years and hadn’t gotten out of regionals in each of the previous 4 seasons.
We all want to see this team win and win this year, but the Miles comparisons are just silly.

Yes... at the last second too... we were very close.

The comparison is not what they done, it’s the state of the program. Winning seasons but no improvement. Can’t compete for championships.

SEC championships are meaningless starting next year in at least Football, Softball, Basketball and Baseball..its all about seeding in the football playoffs and RPI in the other sports. Oklahoma has been the dominant softball school for a while, if you don't like it pony up because they just gave Maxwell at least 200k cash...

Phillips and Calvez have been 18s 2 full years--going into 3rd. Jones has been 18s for 1 full year, although the team Jones is on has played up in high level 18U events for several years before that. Franklin just completed her first year of 18s as well.
Heavener and Harris have been pretty much exclusively 16s, but they can only play who is put in front of them. Can't fault the players for that. But yes I am in agreement that more weight should be put on the results of the players that excelled at the higher level.
Either way, they aren't perfect indicators of future performance at the collegiate level. However, they are the best indicator a college coach has. And competing against similar talent that they will face in college is the best way to prepare them for what awaits them in the SEC. Calvez, Jones, & Phillips seem to be best positioned right now for that. Calvez and Jones are probably the highest performers of their respective teams which is encouraging given the competition those teams face.
Hopefully Heavener and Harris transition smoothly to high level 18s and then transition to us ready to roll. Personally think Harris will have no problems transitioning, but won't know that until they get thrown into the fire.

Tonight at midnight is the first contact period for 2025 recruits. Lets hope we can get some top recruits in this class like last years.
