Anyone that says wait for the portal is living on fantasy island. You don’t build teams through the portal you augment. Just look at the football team or have you forgotten how far that’s taken us.
Year three should have us in the top ten in recruiting. What is in the portal but unhappy greedy and disgruntled attitude players that were not cream of the crop starting five players. You are delusional excuse makers. Hide and watch. Not the path to success.

Kentucky found that out and Jay Wright was preaching it.
Basketball recruiting does not remotely equal football recruiting, so you cannot compare the two. Also, I don't think anyone is saying to abandon HS players altogether, it's just that if you miss one year on top HS talent, then you can pick up high quality players in the portal.
Easier to fill holes when you only have 5 starting spots instead of 22.

There is no doubt about it Redius and Kim crap the bed on HS recruiting and yes you can get by with using the portal next year but IMO that’s not the best model or a way to sustain success. SC does both and it shows in their depth.

This isn’t college football and again the method has been proven to work
LSU had a player dismissed and another tore her ACL. Depth wasn’t an issue at season start

Let's see what happens during portal. If we add 1 or 2 more players close to Morrow caliber we will be fine. We need a floor general pg that controls the floor with command. I know we have the freshman coming in but see if we add a pg with alot of college experience.

He had a recruit and her family with him yesterday at the NCAA tournament games. She appeared to be a guard (smaller girl).

I think the consensus is we shouldn't strictly rely on the portal but one missed HS class isn't going to make or break the program. Making it a habit then thats another story. The 2025 class will say a lot IMO.
I'd say Kim more than earns the benefit of the doubt with her track record, what she has done in two years, and she had two outstanding HS/Portal classes her first two years here

Honestly nobody wants to say it so I will might get backlash. We need Bartlett roster post just taking up space been here 3yrs average is 1 point a game, 6"3 can't get meaningful PT,and freshman Kent and Big Mack play more than her.
Someone with that height with 3yrs in college should be contributing. Even if she only comes in to let Angel or Neesha to rest but she doesn't.

Bartlett is taking up space but she will only be here for one more year. LSU came into this season only using 12 scholarships, and you have 15 to use. So the issue so much isn't Bartlett just sitting on the sideline. Its clear she will never play at LSU but we left a lot of space open they could have gone to another 1-2 players from the portal.

I mean we will see what they add after season over. She can still go to school if they pull scholarship. If she stays at LSU school will be taken care of she just isn't on basketball scholarship. It happens every year in football at alot of schools.
