Yes, I would feel better if it was just Goodman and Willis. I am really surprised that Hawkins is coming because November 3rd is the same weekend as USC-Oregon.

Shea hinted today that there could possibly be up to 8-9 DL in the class if they're the right guys with DE having the majority at as many as 6. Doubt it happens unless we reach for a couple late but it would be a welcome sight imo.

USC guys, one of our less highly thought of insiders is hinting at Goodman having a handler. Any word from your end? I've got a feeler out to my USC guy but haven't heard back yet.

Yeah that is very interesting. Hope it's a legitimate interest, and not just a way to stay in their ears about USC. Hmmmmm could be anything though...too early to worry about that kind of stuff.

Couple questions

Why brazil at cb as opposed to slot receiver considering his shiftyness?

Am I alone in thinking that MJones projects as well at running back as LB? His size and speed frighten mortal men.

Only problem is that at this point it seems inevitable that we take a RB with Adam Taylor likely the guy. Word is that the staff is set on taking one.

I know recruiting is a tricky business and it's difficult for a staff to project into the future. However, unless they see Taylor as a lights-out prospect, I wouldn't be opposed to RS'ing Hill and Magee this year and using this spot for another (more pressing) need.

Here is my educated guess on the class

QB-Hayden Rettig
QB-Anthony Jennings
RB-Adam Taylor
WR-Chuck Baker
WR-Quantavious Leslie
WR-Kyrion Parker
TE-Logan Stokes
TE-Desean Smith
OL-Ethan Pocic
OL-KJ Malone
OL-Josh Boutte
OL-Tyler Tezeno
DE-Michael Patterson
DE-Frank Herron
DE-Tim Williams
DL-Robert Nkemdiche
DT-Tevin Lawson
DT-Greg Gilmore
DT-Scott Pagano
LB-Melvin Jones
LB-Kendall Beckwith
DB-Jeremy Cutrer
CB-Jeryl Brazil
DB-Priest Willis
ATH-John Diarse
ATH-Tre'davious White

I assume we can take 26 due to back counting, if not ill subtract the 2nd QB. Also, I would have my honorable mentions be Torrodney Prevot, he would take the place of Nkemdiche, and Rickey Jefferson, taking the place of Priest Willis.

Not worried. July camp is the elite camp anyway.

Interesting....as per Shea:
"STM QB Brandon Bergeron is here at camp working out for Steve Kragthorpe. He's gotten taller and added some good weight." Courtesy?

Based, if we end up with that class, my God. I think there are a couple on that list that are long shots but man we can hope! That would be an unbelievable class.

I understand you're thinking on the RB situation and in part agree. I'm a "take a RB and QB every year" guy so that's my only caveat but just looking at the depth I agree. I just think putting too much on getting Fournette is too dicey so I'm fine with taking a back this year. We'll still take at least 2 in 2014 with or without Fournette. Maybe 3.

I don't think the staff is necessarily basing their thoughts on Taylor being a can't miss(though I think he's close too it for our system) as much as they just want a RB in the class while not counting on a particular guy. They'd take one of Taylor, Ryan Green and Kailo Moore(this kid is something special. Ran sub 4.3 at OM last night).

Based, would be thrilled with that group. Like I posted a few days ago, we're going to be happy with our class no matter what combination of players are in it. I can't wait until signing day. Do you really think we'd turn away Jefferson or just thinking he may go elsewhere? I think he's ours and will not be turned away. When healthy, he's top 5 in the state to me. Reminds me more of Beckham than White does.

I agree and remember the "Don't worry, we'll get Lache next year" threads too.

2014 is going to be the year of the running back phenom with Fournette, Sony Michael & Bo Scarbrough. Louisiana, Florida & Alabama resident have all been saying these guys are the best in each respective state since their freshman years.

Hopefully we can get caught up with OU on Devon Thomas and stay high with Donald Catalon from Houston Eisenhower.

All of the mentioned guys are in 247's current top 100. There are others in it that like LSU too.
