On the other end Hallman recruited very well but was a god awful

I’m still friends and still talk with a few from the Hallman staff. They did a great job in recruiting during that time.

Archer was living the first year, on Arnsparger’s players and staff.

Gerry D did a great job recruiting, bad head coach.

Eccentric and flamboyant American fitness personality, Richard Simmons is originally from New Orleans.

If this is his son then I'd say we've got a hell of a chance to land 'em.

Yes but this recruiting thing is hardly over and I predict that Texas will probably steal a few from A&M and also land within the top 10 when it’s all over. I also just don’t believe the hype that Simmons will end up at Texas. LSU is just the perfect fit for this guy. I also like us to end up landing our own instate 5* DL recruit in 6’5 295 lb Dominick McKinley. Get both these guys back on campus during the year and have a little discussion with our other huge DL player in Mason Smith after he racks up 10 plus sacks and 15 TFL during the season! Once he’s a clear cut 1st round draft pick and you can have both these big time recruits sit down with a future 1st rounder and ask him how many other teams can provide you with this type of platform, with this type of team, close to home and both of them be able to start or at least get lots of playing time their freshman years. While also being able to practice with, hang out with and play with other future 1st rounders like the big 6’6 290 lb Quincy Wiggins and 6’5 260 lb freshman all SEC / AA Dashawn Womack!

Then you can just whisper in the ear how beneficial it is to be able to practice against these future 1st round OL teammates they have on the other side, two deep I might add. That’s all after they’ve just watched LSU beat the breaks off of Auburn, Florida, Bama, or A&M. Who ever they come to watch or maybe they watch several of those? You take that film and you help them imagine their name and number playing in that clean arse jersey in front of the craziest stadium in the country. Then you ask them both, you want to be playing with us, in this environment, with these players or against these guys? After that you tell both of them that they can be two of the best players on this future championship team that we’re building here in Baton Rouge.

Ask them if they really believe that they won’t make all the money they want while playing here and helping these fans dreams come true. They’ll in turn help yours become reality while playing in college and we’ll make yours come true by developing you into the future 1st rounder that you believe you are and we believe we can get you there. We don’t just believe it, but we have a very long history of doing that for many players and we have real examples of that on this team. You’ve been talking to and hanging out with about 7 or 8 future college stars and NFL stars. That would be very difficult to say no to imo. If they aren’t rolling it out in some similar way then they need to hire my arse and I’ll get these boys on this team!

I think he was a good head coach, just not a great one. I think Archer was at least a very good coach, he may have ended up being great but I think it may have been a case of too much too soon. I think he wasn't ready for the scope of being an SEC head coach and the results short-circuited his coaching career.

They had back to back top 5 classes and are in it for a bunch of blue chip guys this year. I understand a lot of people hate Texas myself included but to ignore that sark has done great job in recruiting since he’s got there is ignorant. And it ain’t just like he’s recruiting skill skill positions he’s getting really good guys in the trenches too. They going to be a problem this year

Agree- the players they (Texas) are now recruiting usually don't make a decision until late and they are top tier. If Texas has a recruiting year this year like they have had the last two they will have a solid foundation for the near future.

I’m also a believer that LSU gets Simmons in the end! Anything can happen but….kids can change their mind like we change our underwear

Someone needs to tell this kid, either come to LSU and make your name a household one like Harold Perkins or go to Texas to get paid little more and be mediocre.

wrong, get paid maybe 100k more now, and lose out on millions in future NIL and NFL earnings. LSU is the place to build an NIL brand and get on TV

for some reason, i think we lose out on him initially, but a good chance for a flip, especially once its apparent which program is trending up

His last season, an the last LSU game with that staff, tells you all you need to know.
