We have players from Alabama. Not sure why this is such a big deal. Interstate goes both ways.

I have several friends from the Amite area. They are all LSU fans and said the Bama fans are confined to a select few that were Florida State fans before. They say Amite is 99% LSU fans.

Do we have any that Bama put a full court press on?

Because we did for Moses, Harris and D. Smith and many others.

It is not symmetrical and it is not "even". Go sell that somewhere else.

Every now and then, there is a wash. Like our getting Kwon Alexander and them getting Denzel Devall.

But for every example of that, I can find 10 or more outright steals (actually rang up to about 19, but 10 starters/high NFL draft picks is close enough).

Where is the "comparable" Alabama player (based on HS credentials) that we got for:

Luther Davis
Robby Green
Eddy Lacy
Derrington Stentimore
Kenny Bell
Brad Sylve
Landon Collins
Tim Williams
Cam Robinson
Hootie Jones
Cam Sims
Day Charlot
Shy Carter
Moses (*technically IMG, Florida, but, again, not only a Louisiana native, but Baton Rouge)
D. Smith
Mathis
Chris Allen
Sopsher
Christian Harris

Hell, the 2017 haul are still playing. If Moses had still been a Louisiana high school, Bama would have landed arguably the Top 5 or 5 of the Top 6 players in the state (Buggs was CC in MS, but a Ruston native).

Okay so now let's do Top 10 Alabama players to LSU since Saban took over in T-Town:

Sidell Corley
Phelon Jones
Kwon Alexander (And already covered)
Peter Parrish

Now, we have done well with other Alabama players - Josh Williford, Jakori Savage, Cordale Flott, even, but NONE of them were on Bama's radar and did not sniff the Top 10 in the state rankings. Both quantity and quality flows that way - player after player from Baton Rouge, NE Louisiana or elsewhere going to Bama and helping them beat LSU and win championships.

We got Kwon Alexander. "But, but, but - we get Alabama players, too!"

Get the frick outta here with that.

I think it has to do with the disparity in the quality of the players we're getting from Alabama vs the players they're getting from Louisiana.

Both teams have gotten guys the other team has passed on, or not made huge priorities. I don't think anyone is getting too worked up over guys like Eddie Smith, Slade Bolden (not rational people anyway), or to a lesser extent, Kenny Bell, Shyheim Carter & Tim Williams (other than well after the fact).

People get worked up over the head to head battles with elite Louisiana prospects. I'm sure there have been others, but Kennedy, this year, is really the only elite level Alabama recruit that they really wanted and we made them sweat about.

I’m from and live in North LA. I’ve seen Saban come in and get plenty of kids from this area, especially West Monroe and Neville.

Yeah because it’s just north la.

Dylan Moses
Chris Allen
Devonta Smith
Ishmael Sospher
Shyheim Carter

My problem is guys saying that north la was a feeder for Bama which is untrue

I’ll do it again if you want but on this board I’ve posted the la recruits that’s Sabans landed since he’s gotten the Bama job and he’s clearly gotten more from south la

The perception that Saban has done well in NE Louisiana is because he has, particularly with elite players.

The reason he's gotten more from South LA is that 3/4 of the population are either south of I-10 or live within a 30, 40 minute drive of it, while only a small portion live North of I-20 or within a 30, 40 minute drive of it, particularly outside of Shreveport-Bossier.

I think Coach O recruiting Coast to Coast destroys the barbers game. More options.

I’m not too sure about that. I think it depends on how well Brennan does. We have plenty of replacements everywhere else except possibly the DL and we have a lot of top incoming freshmen there.

I predict Brennan will do well. He has reached the age where he is mature physically, mentally, and emotionally. By his own admission he has learned a lot from Burrow and should be really good in my opinion.

It's a new day.

Saban's success in Louisiana was heavily dependent on his ability to go to a recruit, fiddle with his rings, and tell them that if you come to Bama you will win championships and if you don't, Bama will still win championships.

Now, Ed can make the same pitch.

Bama is not going anywhere, of course, and they will probably be the SEC favorites again, especially with the conventional wisdom already forming that LSU will have growing pains in the post-JB era. But if O can pull the right strings next season, then it could be the beginning of a paradigm shift.

We have all known that to end the Bama dynasty, we needed to beat them. We did that this year. We need to do it again.

These, we put up a huge fight for and lost. That's really 6 kids that we put everything into and just lost. To a guy that spent 4 years on our campus and left to go the NFL.

Ish Sopsher
Landon Collins
Cam Robinson
Hootie Jones
Dylan Moses
Chris Allen

I don't even think we offered all these kids and didn't put up a huge fight like the ones above. I could be wrong on Luther Davis.

Cam Sims
Day Charlot
Shy Carter
Luther Davis
Robby Green
Eddy Lacy -
Derrington Sentimore
Kenny Bell
Brad Sylve
Tim Williams
D. Smith
Christian Harris

We put out the most kids per capital and we only have one division-one school. So comparing us to Alabama when Bama has 2 power 5 schools and puts out roughly the same amount of talent is absurd. Especially being that Orgeron or Miles didn't spend 5 years at a school building relationships with all the high schools in Bama while winning a national championship.

Les had high rated players, but failed to fill the needs, one high rated class had 5 Safetys, that on paper is nice but in the trenches where the games are won is where Miles went down. 2020 Season is going to be tough for real, but we WILL recruit in 2021 & 2022 as good as ever. HELL we just won the National Championship, we will have damn strong football team and have a great day!

They were all Top 10 players in the state. There was a time we focused almost exclusively on Louisiana talent - for good reason.

And, if you don't think we offered Lacy, Timmy Williams, Kenny Bell, Christian Harris, etc., I just don't know what else to tell you.
