Texas had some power though. I think having small ball capability is important, even in the MLB, but it tends to be that the teams that go the distance have the ability to crush a miss over the fence.

That’s a different argument. We only had one slapper in the lineup last year. White. She has basically the same role this year. The difference is our “power” hitters are hitting with more power now. It has nothing to do with how many slippers you have. Runs are runs. If you can get on base in any way, and you have 2-3 girls who can consistently hit with power, you will score enough runs to compete.

I’ll disagree a bit on the second assertion. Pitching has nothing dramatically improved. It’s a bit of an issue for a lot of teams right now. Not a lot of elite pitching talent to go around. The hitting talent has far outpaced it over the past decade or so.
Texas won the natty last year with 3 slappers in their lineup.

A shocker we couldnt score more than 3. Team BA will take a hit after this one. Abby was 0-2 and she is probably below 160 BA.

Eh shite happens. Sleepwalking and sat a bunch of starters.

Beaver was definitely a number 1.

Lol. My high school had 2400+ freshman in my class, and 4200+ total. Pretty much all the central Florida high schools had at least 4k students.

Only 3 high schools in Florida have more than 4k. 2 are in Miami. One is in Orlando.
I’ll take UNC and Clemson. That would give us strong footholds in the SC and NC markets. Then Virginia would maybe be my third choice.

The writing was on the wall buddy. Bama knew Auburn was in the midst of an historic run, and they panicked and fired their coach.

Ah yes. Alabama fired Avery because Auburn won a Round of 32 game.

NOT because Alabama lost to Norfolk State in the 1st round of the NIT. That had nothing to do with firing Avery.

edit: Pruet's undergrad was done at Auburn.

No.

He did undergrad at UA. JD at Faulkner.

The judge in the Bediako case just recused himself. I wish he wouldn’t have.

It really doesn’t matter. This only delays the case. And his replacement will have even more Alabama ties.
One of the NCAA’s counsel is a double Bama grad.

This case is literally Bama on Bama crime lmfao

I wonder how much money Pinson Valley and Clay paid off AHSAA to keep them out of 6A

Both have never been close to being top 32 by enrollment. The cutoff was Buckhorn at 1032. Clay is sitting at 952, Pinson at 740.

Bediako has been officially added to the roster. Let’s fricking roll.

Had injury issues.

I hate that he and JAD missed the 2021-22 playoffs due to injury. People always talk about Jamo and Metchie but they made a big difference too.

Yes, I agree that Bediako is a different player than Williamson and more like Onyejiaka, but still the point remains that the coaching staff missed here taking a flyer on a guy with a heart condition. Now they are trying to cover it up.

1. They did not know he had a heart condition

2. He was not expected to play regardless as a reclassified freshman.

3. You can’t “miss” on a flyer…that’s what makes it a flyer.

I think what comes out of this is a hard line that unless you play actual NBA minutes you are eligible if you still have time remaining on your eligibility clock.

With this specific case I agree. Eventually an actual NBA player will sue as well and they’ll have a case based on precedent imo
