Ole Miss should fire their A.D. today. I am absolutely stunned that with weeks to prepare and knowing Lane Kiffin‘s track record, the A.D. did not have one or two names of coaches that had more or less verbally agreed to take the job if when he bolted for LSU. The incompetence astounds me.

They don’t really have a choice. They are gearing up for a playoff run and hiring Golding was the only way to keep the staff and roster together.

This is not a good analogy. A better one would be putting the Heisman logo on basketball jerseys. That would be equally as stupid as the Jumpman logo on football jerseys.

Nike is a track logo. Why are they on football jerseys?

Holloway is an outright hustler. I just wish he would be a consistent shooter , which is his strength. Otherwise no complaints he is maximizing his potential, I feel.

Well he’s shooting 43% from 3 on 8.2 attempts. Wish he shot a lil better versus Gonzaga but hard to expect much better than that.

Wouldn’t you say Sexton and Miller were the most skilled players we have had in the last 10 years. Of course Sears was a great BB player.

Sears was 1st team AA at 5’10 and is now in the NBA. I would say he’s more skilled than Brandon.

How good is Jalil Bethea and when can we expect him back? Looks like another big guard.

Soon. By the end of the month.

I'm quite sure the freshman we have aren't playing for free.

I’m quite sure Alabama wasn’t any of their highest offers.

I’d be fine with anything aside from Jordan or Under Armor. I’d take under armor over Jordan though.

Nike owns Jordan Brand LOL

Bad thing about it theres no room on that roster everyones back. I watched some of the game he's playing well but to what end?

Any team can sign him.

especially given his defensive limitations athletically.

Nelson has zero limitations athletically.

Aden and Philon as 1/2 kinda interchangeable. Sherrell at the 5. Feel pretty good about those 3 as starters.

Trelly will have his say at the 2. Bringing Aden off the bench would make it easier to stagger him and Philon.

For me the rotation should be

Starting: Philon/Trelly/Bethea/TBB/Sherrell

6th man: Aden

Rest of rotation: Mallette, 2/3 of (Allen, Jemison, Bristow), and then Williamson or Onyejiaka at the 5.

That would be a strong 10 man rotation.
Another transfer to watch. She’s following a couple Bama accounts so probably keep a close eye on her.

CIF/P Brooke Wells (Houston): .341 BA, 35 BB/23 SO, 10 HR. Also pitched a little bit. 4.91 ERA in 15.2 IP

That is a good point, but Residency and Fellowship are separate from the Medical School. You're still applying to University of Alabama Medical Center. I don't recall ERAS being used for medical school applications, but that was now 7 years ago for me and I've had to commit more important things to memory.

We’re not talking about residency or fellowship programs. Those can be operated by anybody, school or independent organization. We’re talking specifically about UAB’s school of medicine. UA does not oversee that in any way.

I believe the rumors FWIW

Nate Oats is not a liar.
quote:

Rumor was Reid could’ve played. His Mama told him not to.

Fake rumor. He came back against Auburn and reinjured his hamstring.

Amazing once the postseason started he was able to go.

He missed the first game of the SEC tourney.

Alabama lands Iowa transfer infielder Jena Young

Alabama has joined the transfer portal party. The Tide added a commitment from former Iowa infielder Jena Young, who has two years of eligibility left.

Young has hit for a high average each of her first two seasons with the Hawkeyes, carrying a .366 career batting average to Tuscaloosa. In conference play, Young led the team with a .444 batting average, which was fifth in the Big Ten this past season.

The former Iowa Gatorade Player of the Year will likely slot into the vacancy at second base left by the graduate Kali Heivilin. In 2025, Young recorded 99 putouts and finished the season with a .990 fielding percentage. Young, who has 16 doubles, eight triples and seven home runs in her career, probably won’t reproduce Heivilin’s 15 homers from last season, but the previous Iowa coaching staff believed she had potential for more power numbers.
Some portal names to watch

MIF Jena Young (Iowa): .359 BA, .477 OBP, .545 SLG - 2 years remaining

MIF Soo-Jin Berry (Iowa): .335 BA, .418 OBP, .589 SLG% - 2 years remaining

P Maya Johnson (Belmont): 1.52 ERA, 22 BB, 366 SO - 1 year remaining

C Corri Hicks (Oklahoma): .261 BA, 3 HR, 5 BB, 5 SO (only 23 AB) - 3 years remaining

We've gotten plenty of Gatorade Players of the Year the past few years. And Murph has done jack shite with them. He either regresses them or they hit the portal for a coach who can actually develop them as hitters. For the most recent example see Kennedy Marceaux.

Does Kali Heivilin know this?

My main point was that there’s no way Oats is expecting a sophomore Sherell to be as good on defense as a senior Cliff (think 5th yr senior at that).

I’ll be real, Cliff was average defensively. I hope Sherrell is as good or better on that end.
