Now it will be a matter of holding on to his pledge until signing day.
Personally, I stay weary of this sort of thing. Especially a kid from so far away
I Kige this.

I can just hear Brent Musberger in 2014: "Rettig to Quantavious for 6!"

dude looks like a Rick/Jimmy Clausen hybrid

And thus began a fap of epic proportions

I was wondering what the super six is as well.

[quote]After watching the video here is what I think:
Likes:
1. Good accuracy
2. able to throw under pressure (This +1,000, he was getting hit as soon as he threw and it was on target!)
3. has the physical size to compete at any level 4. looks to throw first but knows when to tuck and go
5. ability to throw on the run
6. gets the ball out quickly

Well this will assuage some concerns about our QB recruiting if we can hold on to him.
If we can then show we will give him a fair chance to see the field and throw the ball we can assuage some concerns about Les' philosophy on offense.

From a USC insider prior to the LSU commitment:
quote:
He was going to be SC's primary QB target last year before he tore his ACL and Browne kind of emerged as their guy. I've seen a lot of him at camps as an underclassman, he's built kind of like Barkley, just shy of 6'3 but very stout and well built. He has an absolute cannon, maybe the strongest arm of any quarterback nationally, and a quick release with good mechanics. His accuracy is best on short-to-intermediate stuff, and he has a real gunslinger mentality, makes a lot of high risk throws at Cathedral. He's aggressive to a fault and needs development with his progressions and decision making, and because of the injury he doesn't have a ton of game reps. He's a pretty confident/cocky kid who kind of fits the SoCal surfer stereotype to a tee.
quote:
Far as recruiting goes he's still open and considering his options, like I said this time last year he was already convinced he'd be SC's QB because of what the coaches were telling him, and then when the injury happened everything kind of started over for him. I do think he wants to play at a powerhouse program unlike his brother, so programs in the SEC may have a leg up. Just evaluating on arm talent he's right there with guys like Shane Morris and Cody Thomas as the best in this class.

Notice his strong points:
1) accuracy
2) arm strength
3) READS
We actually get a qb who reads defenses. Thank God.

Very big pickup! Welcome Mr. Rettig.
However, I am going to take this one lightly until he signs because as we have found out over and over and over we have NOT been able to keep our Cali-kids committed to us in the past. I would worry a lot if USC or Cal offered. If he signs though, it will be huge.

This guy is gonna put pressure on Rivers' arse to step it up IMO

USC already has a QB committed in Max Browne(#1 QB)
and Cal got a top QB last year in Zach Kline! And Cal already has a QB this year committed. The only team id worry about is UCLA,but they got one last year and Brett Hundley the year before.

Please don't think that I feel his "cockiness" is a bad thing. He's a 6'4 200lb accurate QB. I want my QB confident overly confident.
We all know that when he gets to LSU and the D is faster and stronger he'll be humbled.....but I hope not to much. When defensive players have "swag" it's a good thing. QB's need it too.

So none of them have 2 QBs committed yet this year...so they're all still a threat.
