LSU will hold its annual elite high school prospect camp this week, beginning on Thursday and wrapping up on Saturday. Expect big-time names, new offers and possible commitments to take place in what is often one of the busiest recruiting events on the calendar.

It’s worth noting that several of the Tigers’ 2019 commitments will be on hand, most notably 5-stars Derek Stingley Jr. and Kardell Thomas, 4-star tailback Tyrion Davis, 3-star center Charles Turner and defensive lineman Joseph Evans. Additionally, 4-star Texas outside linebacker Marcel Brooks is expected to make the trek to Baton Rouge.

Additionally, LSU will play host to 3-star cornerback Cordale Flott, who is making his second visit to campus this summer. This time, it’ll count as an official. Flott, who has been committed to Auburn since April, has been to LSU two times since garnering an offer in May. Sources on the Auburn side believe that Flott’s commitment is a bit shaky, making this weekend’s return trip to LSU worth monitoring very closely.

Notes: It is going to be Stingley’s first chance to recruit for LSU, so look out. He’ll be out there competing with Thomas, Evans, Charles and Davis, so a large contingent of commitments will be hard at work. Other visits that loom large include Dean, Emery, Cain, Harris, Bush, Lee, Palmer and Carrell, in-state prospects with offers in hand.

quote:

It’ll be a major positive if LSU can get Emery and Cain both on campus with Davis. Both 4-star backs have been making visits all across the country this spring and into the summer, but these three sit squarely atop the team’s board. Expect some combination of the three to sign with the Tigers come December.

quote:

Hollins could emerge as an offer at running back if the staff loses steam with Emery, who’ll announce his decision on July 7, or Cain, who is waiting until December to commit.

quote:

2020 Notes: An elite crew of underclassmen with offers will compete in front of the staff, most notably in the backfield with Evans and Clayton, the nation’s top 2020 tailback and Louisiana’s top tailback. Jackson will work out for Dennis Johnson for the first time since landing an offer in April. Dyson earned his offer prior to his freshman year and will work out at both tight end and defensive end.

Ishmael Sopsher and Donte Starks are the 2 notables missing from the list. But Starks could pop in for the camp at sometime (not too worried about him though) and Sophser was just here last week. Would be nice though to have all of the 2019 back together to reiterate the pitch of staying home

Moving on to 2020, I’d like to see McKinley Jackson the DL from MS and former lsu commit make another trip this weekend. 2020 is still a long ways from now and it couldn’t hurt to get back into the fold with him.

Let's hope it doesn't come to that.

I hope Emery shows up to the camp. We need one more crack at him before July 7th. Other than that, I'm not worried about it. Going to be a great haul for the 2019 class!

Based on what shea said, I’d expect at least 1 offer to go out to a 19 QB, probably multiple. Hopefully we get a commit.

I like those three star guys a lot based on their film. Saxton, Walker, and Suianoa.

Younger brother will be there. Unfortunately for him, he doesn't have a LSU offer. I told him this might be his last chance to showcase himself.

I heard this guy may have done enough yesterday to earn an offer. Apparently Slinger was enthralled by the guy and he spent a lot of time with him.

That is one huge kid. He carries the 290 pounds VERY WELL if he weighs that much in the provided photo. 6'5" 290 pounds, wow.

I find this very intriguing. We need to find a way to get Emery or Cain to commit with Davis. It will be interesting to see how LSU plays a visit with all 3 at the same time.

Just wanted to point out that Sam nailed this one. Not sure who else was taking notice but found this interesting since Flott has now committed to LSU.
