I wasn't meaning it to come off as bashing if it did. I was making the point that not many have committed/signed yet and that portal guys tend to take a little time to evaluate their options since it isn't new to them. Now some players likely were putting feelers out to teams and vice versa before they entered.
Another poster said it best, Ole Miss and Auburn are likely signing a ton of guys for various reasons while we at plugging holes. Auburn needed a whole roster overhaul and is using both high school and portal to speed up the process because Freeze has to or he's fired. Kiffin is playing with fire and going hard in portal each year.
Just different philosophies between the programs. I'm confident we will end up with some good players and have 3 lined up already with more to come. That's why I said be patient to see how it all plays out. I'm guessing Kelly is spreading out the portal nil money instead of going heavy on a few guys. We wont really know until the portal starts to settle.

It’s not calling him out for questions on the recruiting board. It’s someone starting a post that doesn’t follow recruiting but says Auburn and Ole Miss are cleaning up while we aren’t getting anyone. Meanwhile we got 3 very highly sought after guys today with positive news about a few more.

I have a lot of A lures too. Most of my A lures are chatterbaits. I always carry at least 2 rods with chatterbaits tied on. Those damn things just plain catch bass. Put you a Zako, spunk shad, or a Rage Bug on it, and I guarantee you will catch some fish year around.

I’m still not seeing what you are seeing. It would help if you would summarize that long list in a way that makes your point. In the Top 20, I see what On3 is calling an Aub/Ole Miss battle for 2 of them (and as someone else pointed out this may be nothing more than AI) and LSU at 100% for Brown and in on Anderson. In the next 5, LSU, Auburn, and Ole Miss each have a commit/100% and another Aub/OM battle. Keeping going a little further I see what they call an OM/LSU battle, then Auburn and Ole Miss getting another in the Top 50. They are in on a couple more guys, but are battling it out with each other while LSU has just as many locks. I don’t have the patience to keep going so maybe the pattern changes, but I’m not seeing it.

Both had disappointing seasons relative to expectations, especially Auburn. Freeze’s tenure at Auburn is off to a worse start than Harsin’s so far and Ole Myth is literally losing their entire team.
Take a look at the guys we already have committed or have consensus predictions on, the targets we still have on the board, and then combine that with another top 7-10 class.
We are not struggling the way some of you want to believe.

Ole Myth lost those games for similar reasons as everyone else, including LSU- lack of depth. They bought starters in the portal, but didn’t have much of anything behind them in several positions. Their starting RB went down and they let a starting caliber guy walk, so they ended up struggling to run the ball. Their OL was also a disappointment relative to what they paid for. Kiffin’s offense is based around running successfully to set up big plays in the passing game, and they failed to run well enough in all 3 losses.
Their defensive pickups were better, but they still lacked depth. For example, Princley U was out for the LSU game and we beat them. But their biggest loss was definitely on offense. Tre Harris was in and out for most of the back half of the season, including the second half of our game, and their offense was never the same without him.
Now Ole Myth’s entire team is walking out the door. Literally 75-80% of the production on both sides of the ball is leaving this offseason. They added last year’s portal class to a returning roster that had won 11 games. This year, their portal class is an attempt to stay above water. Kiffin is trying to pull off the same thing FSU just failed miserably at. I guess he has a decent QB already on the roster, but he’s still attempting a total roster rebuild through the portal, because their recruiting hasn’t been good enough for 3 straight years. They’ve hit on a few guys, but not enough to build an SEC roster on.

Auburn just brought in an insane hs class... but have tons of roster holes...check their last 5-6 seasons. Their tired of being a doormat.
Ole miss is losing like 15 of its starters and can't just plop hs kids in that. They have to backfill the same portal class they just did. Thankfully there isn't quite the level of dudes they got last yr. So they should take a big step back next yr.
Our big holes are oline, s, te, de,wr. Oline we are expected to get a 2 yr starter at c from VA tech. S were in on a few guys. Te we got ou kid and are pursuing a 2nd. De we are pursuing a couple. Wr were in on like 5 and trying to close 2 of them that everyone wants.

You nailed it but I just want to expand on this somewhat. Now that we've gotten to experience great QB play, it's given us a first hand lesson on the ups & downs of starting an inexperienced QB but talented QB. It's going to be difficult to replace Dart's experience as a 3 year starter. Bad reads, turnovers & inabilities to adjust protections all add up & can be costly in games. That alone will hurt Ole Miss on top of the production being lost at WR.

The problem with this approach is that once we identify a target, just like in HS recruiting, if wanted, someone with deeper pockets will swoop in and out bid us.
