I would rather we cut ties than offer the brother. These demands are absurd.

I understand the sentiment. But we absolutely need help on the DL, we are laughably thin with difference makers right now. Can't lose this kid to Bama - got to throw everything at him.

This is certainly not something you want to get in a habit of doing. With that said, we won’t know if it’s worth it until Sopsher gets on the field. If he’s an All SEC caliber guy, it’s worth a wasted scholly on his brother. However, if he’s a bust, that’s two wasted and LSU got screwed.

There are usually 10+ guys in every class that contribute 0 on the field. It just puts more pressure on the other DL in the class to pan out.

Thing will probably begin trending LSUs way soon I’m guessing

Agree somewhat but if we get ISH we will have truly locked down the state. A big "win" for the program. Plus sometimes you never see the downstream affects until its too late. IE cam sims. If we offer cam sims then we get cam robinson. 1st round OT that was playing against us not with us. Then it caused us to lose out on Hootie. I dont know what Amite has after this class but a guy with the ability of ISH can have 2 spots all he wants. From there its up to the coaches to motivate him.

They would sit on Rodney’s paperwork until Ish’s arrived. They aren’t forced to accept a LOI faxed to them.

Pretty crazy demands, but it’s his right.

I don’t understand why he doesn’t commit to LSU then.. considering if LSU is his brothers only other decent option. Obviously Alabama isn’t doing that.

Is he holding out for some other school late??

I see now it’s about going to school together, haha.

While this is largely accurate, even those 10 guys were recruited on the probability that they could contribute at some point. Not everyone does, obviously.

But with Rodney, you have approximately 0% chance of contribution. With Ish, there are enough questions about effort and competition that there is a real bust risk.

From a probability standpoint, it just makes no sense.

It actually makes more sense to leave that spot open for 2020 or grad transfer than it does to give it to a true non-contributor.

Is he going to throw a fit if he comes here and Rodney never sees the field?

It's one thing to talk about this with different staffs behind closed doors but to do it in an interview with the media seems weird to me.

Seems like he's just negotiating through the media to try and motivate Alabama to change their opinion.

So if that is so important and he is so close to coach O then why isn’t he already committed?

I agree...he's hoping Alabama makes it happen for him and his brother. So, Saban decides whether LSU gets the #1 DT in the country or not...not a great position to be in.

It makes a family look bad that a brother is saying he wont play without his brother? That his brother is the most important factor in his decision? Thats a bad family look?

My concern is his heart invested in the actual program. I’m just being real and admit I don’t know Ish, but if things don’t go as well as he’d like (if he is here) what if they don’t like his brothers treatment.. playing time, whatever.. does it then become an increased possibility he transfers out.. that really concerns me. I have read about taking plays off, but I can’t say if that’s true or not. That wouldn’t be fair. Some simply say it’s him being raw. He’s the #1 dt for a reason.

I just wonder what he’s really waiting on at this point. I hate LSU is going to have to turn down two other potential four star caliber players..

This seems like one of the trickiest closings ever.. considering limited spots and such great talent left on the board.. plus Hampton (who is my most anticipated recruit maybe ever) only makes things more dicey with the draft.

I hate the hard 25 limit.

Ish could be developed into an absolute monster here and be worth whatever it takes.

Yeah because it gives off the vibe that things should just be given to him, his brother doesn't have to earn an offer and scholarship. Rodney hasn't even played Juco ball.

The 25 limit benefits LSU more than it harms us right now.

The point is that LSU has done just that. Yet, the auction, errr...recruitment continues?

If the decision is COMPLETELY contingent on his brother also getting a scholarship and LSU is the ONLY school that has offered as much, then why has he not signed with LSU? The only logical conclusion is that LSU is not his top choice and he's hoping that top choice (whoever it is) meets his demand.

This screams of someone trying to pressure someone else into a move. He went public because he clearly wants Bama to offer his brother and they have not done so as of yet.
He’s hanging out offer to Rod over Bamas head.

"They aren’t forced to accept a LOI faxed to them."
i thought they were and that an institution could only send out the same # of LOIs as they have spots open under the 25 limit.
