Doubtful, Gavin will be a 1st or 2nd round pick due to his size, and will probably be hitting upper 90s by then

I have been wondering about baseball recruiting under new NIL rules.
I believe in the past we have lost out on talent due to the limited scholarships for baseball. Is there an opportunity now to stack even more talent for programs that really care about college baseball?

His dad was the goalie for the Lake Charles Ice Pirates. Went to school with his mom. Good people. This is awesome, they worked hard for this. And didn't even have to give him a travel ball name/spelling.

Owen is the new Jaxson or Braxton.
But, in all seriousness, great family! Very happy for them!

Absolutely. Especially if you can dish out hire salaries than minors can pay..

Galt just hit a two run triple to put the Louisiana Knights ahead 5-0 over Arizona In the Geico Hgh School National Championship Semifinals.
It’s on ESPNU and is being held at Parkview Baptist. The winner of this game plays California in the finals tomorrow.

Galt has played very well. All the games are available on espn+. Most were played at Alex box.

That error with the bases loaded really hurt. I felt bad for the kid

If it’s sold the right way LSU really could land many of these in between guys from now on. Like maybe not our top 5 recruits this season but it’s now possible to land the next 5 and remaining. That would still give us a super talented class. Even if the top 8 sign contracts. We’d still have a top 3 class in the country and the more we land the more we can prove that coming to LSU is the new minor league for those getting under 3 million to play in the minors for 5 years. Traveling on crap.
At LSU you’d get to travel like a pro, eat like a pro, have your own hours to practice besides coaches times, all the girls you’d want and now NIL can also offer you cash money, possibly a million a year maybe 500k a year then grow from there. I’m sure JJ is putting the numbers together to show what they’re truly worth in comparison to minors. What the LSU package or experience offers in dollar amounts. Sell that to the player and parents and you’ll land more top end prospects.
