Lache Seastrunk

He always comes to mind when thinking about this board and stargazing. I wondered what became of him. Drafted in the 6th round and never got higher than a practice squad player his entire career.

From his Wiki

quote:

Seastrunk attended the University of Oregon for his freshman year. On August 20, 2011 it was reported that Seastrunk was granted a release from Oregon with plans to transfer to Baylor University. Before the end of the 2012 season, Seastrunk predicted he would win the Heisman Trophy next year and said "I know I am the best back in the country."[4] Seastrunk finished the season with 1,012 yards on 131 carries but averaged 138.2 yards per game and scored five touchdowns during Baylor's 4-1 run to end the season.[5] He did not win the Heisman Trophy.

Before recruiting was as big a deal as it’s been recently, but the player that comes to mind is the best football player I’ve seen in person , in my life.

It was surreal watching the offense and how well he ran it.

Waited until the next day so LSU couldn't take another recruit to replace him.

RIP Joe McKnight

McKnight to USC was the biggest melt ever on these forums. Made NCG 2011 look like amateur hour.

I still remember standing behind the endzone with my dad and watching Berlin lined up in the shotgun, but for those who don’t know, the evangel shotgun was different. Berlin and John david booty and maybe even josh booty , would line up in a super deep shotgun. I don’t remember quite how far back it was but I believe they have a game where Berlin was injured up on YouTube so y’all can check. I think they lined the qb up , somewhere around where the punter would line up in a tight punt formation. I’m other words , the qb was lined up in the same area, depth wise, as the punter in a punt from the one yard line would be

Berlin and Josh Booty both went to Evangel.

All the Bible-thumping fundamentalists in central Louisiana, especially the bigwigs in the Assemblies of God headquarters in Alexandria—were enraged when ASH’s Craig Nall was named the starter over Booty.

It’s almost like guys who are predisposed to recruiting drama are headcase attention whores who don’t do well in life. Landon Collins is really the only one who comes to mind who was actually successful, the rest are probably flipping burgers or sitting in a jail cell right now

I think this is probably the guy that got a lot of people following recruiting. I could be wrong as I was a young baw, but he’s the first name I really remember hearing about as far as recruiting.

Reuben Randle needing to borrow someone’s hat from the crowd

A guy posting that Kenny Bell was wearing Bama gear at the Verizon store the day before he signed with Bama.

Sam Montgomery committing on live television with the LSU helmet.

Some we lost:

2 for 5 wasn’t NSD but we all remember that, same with Landon Collins and his mom

Trent Richardson and the last minute rumor that he was coming to LSU.

Reuben Randle’s dad saying he and DeAngelo Benton wouldn’t go to the same college.
