Julio Jones fractured his Lisfranc in the 2013 season. His next two seasons were career best at the time (albeit with Roddy White retiring) with 104/1593/6 in 2014 and 136/1871/8 in 2015.
Brian Westbrook injured his Lisfranc in 2005. His next two seasons were career best rushing 240/1217/7 and receiving 77/699/4 in 2006 and rushing 278/1333/7 and receiving 90/771/5 in 2007 while only playing 15 games each season.
Le’Veon Bell suffered a minor injury to his Lisfranc in 2013. His next two seasons he rushed 290/1361/8 and received 83/854/3 in 2014 and rushed 113/556/3 and received 24/136/0 over 6 games in 2015.
MJD injured his Lisfranc in 2012. He only played one full season after that and his production dipped by nearly 50% in 2013 when he rushed 234/803/5 and received 43/314/0.
Santonio Holmes severely injured his Lisfranc in 2012. The next season he had a sharp decline receiving 23/456/1 over 11 games in 2013. In 2014, he played less than 250 snaps and retired.
Cedric Benson injured his Lisfranc in 2012. He never played another snap after that.
Ronnie Brown injured his Lisfranc in 2009. He declined in 2010 by rushing 200/734/5 and receiving 33/242/0. He was relegated to backup duties in 2011 and never regained the job.
After a breakout year, Darren McFadden injured his Lisfranc in 2011. His next season he declined sharply rushing for 215/707/2 and receiving for 42/258/1.
After being drafted 9th overall in 2007, Ted Ginn Jr. injured his Lisfranc prior to his rookie season. He never reached his potential and put up less than 40 catches and 500 yards in 5 of his first 6 seasons while battling injuries.

Why are you justifying a surgery? Bc we whiffed on Sorsby? And Leavitt had this surgery?

A lot of RB’s and WR’s on that list but no QB’s. Guess we need to land him first and worry about recovery second.

by that measure, we should require every single recruit fracture their "lisfranc" (nobody even knows that that is) freshman year.

Matt Mauck suffered the injury against Florida his junior year. (Which is why Marcus Randall threw the Bluegrass Muracle.)
Matt Mauck won a national championship as a senior.

Not football related, but WWE wrestler AJ Styles had lisfranc surgery Oct 24’ and returned to wrestling late January 25’. He was 47 at the time of injury, he is about 6’ 220lbs. He’s a high flying type wrestler, so it’s was pretty impressive he came back from surgery so quick at his age.

Did you read the full list? Obviously not

You mentioned players who had it. Sam Leavitt had it.
Some players will overcome it and some won’t.
I didn’t see you mention a QB who had it.

Matt Schaub in 2012, Taysom hill 2015 BYU is about all your gonna find outside of a Utah qb last year. They all recovered fully. Taysom re injured it in 2022 but he wasn't really playing qb. Its really rare for a qb to sustain this kind of injury but here we are...

Sounds like no big deal

I believe Scam Newton had it when he was qb of the panthers but I could be wrong

Full credit for putting this together and good post, but I do think some of it is misleading.
Holmes was already declining year by year by about that rate (he had 654 yds in 5 more games the season pre-injury), Benson was rapidly declining and close to retirement regardless, Ginn Jr was never going to reach his draft hype either way as a WR (overhyped for playing both ways) etc.

Full recovery time is 6 months to a year depending on severity. Depends on where he is in recovery and the severity of his injury. Missing spring ball is almost a dealbreaker for a QB learning a brand new offense with all new receivers and OL.
I wouldn't offer him a dime until he gets X-rays and maybe even an MRI and is looked over by a top orthopedic surgeon who specializes in feet. You can't afford to pay him 5+ million to not be available until next fall.

Yes, your correct. Newton had it in 2019. Played two more seasons. Rushed over 137 times for 592 yards n 12 tds following season. One positive thing is I don't really see people really reinjuring it. Its either good 90% of the time or it isn't. But theres so many variables that go into that.

Mark Fletcher had the procedure at the beginning of 2024 and suited up/played against Florida the opening game (8/31) which at the time, was considered a very fast timeline. He wasn’t his usual self that season, though.
