One set rules for public schools. A different set of rules for private schools. Just straight up BS. Everybody plays under the same rules or keep the split.

Texas splits their public and private states championships too. It is not uncommon.

Oh whatever class JC and Evangel were in right?

right here. It wasn't that bad or boring. Most could actually find excitement knowing you're about to get 55 rung on you and probably won't score and then that's what happened everytime we played John Curtis and Evangel. Sometimes they wouldn't even practice hard for them because it would already be impossible.

Family gets their mail here (in one school district), house is in another district.

Cheating happens in public and private schools.

This happens in a public school: If the kid is caught and reported then he is ruled ineligible for the rest of the season. Every game he played in is forfeited.

This happens in a private school: If the kid is caught then nothing happens. It is perfectly legal to recruit your players. They don't have to sit out a year like in public schools but instead they can play right away.

Complete bull shite. Keep the split.

I lived in Shreveport for 6 years. This was during Evangel's hay day. I had several good friends who had sons playing for ECA. I heard story after story of all the crazy recruiting they did. It was just shocking. I would just shake my head. One of them said if Evangel was a public school they would never win a state championship ever.

I think to even the playing field, the public schools should start charging tuition.

Also do you think the Zachary players think they couldn't have competed against Catholic

Considering they beat Catholic during the regular season, I'm not sure they'd feel this way.

Stop watching Friday Night Lights like it's a documentary. This shite is simply untrue. How do I know? Because I've had friends legally move into districts and the old schools protest. Reps came to the new house and went through everything. They wanted to see where the player slept, went through his room to see pics/clothes, made sure the clothes were the right size, checked bills to make sure they were for the correct address, etc. That was in Ouachita Parish. Maybe it's different in Baton Rouge and New Orleans.

Parkview won it both ways and show me where they recruit, and that bullshite about public schools not recruiting in complete bullshite. Hell i was recruited by a rival public school in baton Rouge when I was 12.

Everyone knows who the problem schools are.

How can you say they can't when they do as we speak.

Surely you can see the difference between a school which in effect has no boundaries and can accept students from anywhere as a matter of daily business and schools which may in certain instances try to bend the rules by having students move into their attendance zones.

Neville's QB went to WM feeders all the way until high school. Open enrollment in the parish now.

As I said in the longer thread on the MSB I thought vouchers might short circuit all this public private stuff. Every school could have open attendance zones.

Public schools do charge tuition. They're called taxes.
