CEO specifically expressed there’s a need in the secondary, with most thinking he was making a pitch for OSU’s (graduate) Wade.
Solid and smart move. Dude has contributing talent.

Serious question, could we see any high level transfers as walk ons with the assumption they get a scholarship in the next class? Seems like at the rate we're going plenty of walk ons will have a chance to earn a scholarship.

Not sure how manageable it will be for kids paying their own way for a year but we will definitely have space if some good ones are able to take advantage of it. Id at least hope the staff looks hard at trying to convince a few kids to transfer or come in with the promise of a ship in a year, or two in some cases. It'll likely be 4-5 years before we get back to 85.

I hate to ask this but if he is that good, why was he not playing in a major conference,
why did Jerry Rice play at Ms Valley State
why did Walter Payton play at Jackson State
why did Terrell Owens play at UT Chattanooga
why did DeMarcus Ware play at Troy State
Doesn't matter where you went to school. If you've got talent to play at the next level, the NFL will find you. Evans is long at 6'3", has exceptional speed, and brings lots of experience to a young LSU secondary ... started 32 games for the Colonels.

Another plus is there wiring be much more people in the stands than at Nicholls games this year.

Another question. Is that 105 allowed on a team like the 25 signing cap? If a kid leaves the team right now can a walk on immediately come onto the squad or is the 105 lockedl?

Could we say the same about Cole Tracy? And assumedly Jabril Cox?

If I had to pick a defensive player that LSU could least afford to lose it would be either Stingley or Cox. Rarely do you see 247 raise a player's grade from HS to current transfer grade. And wow did they raise Cox...out of HS a 2*, 3246th best player. Now he is a 4* and about the 158th best player if ranked in this class. Sure 1st round draft pick because at 158, he is still really underrated.

Some players are late bloomers or consistently improving. Glad we got Darren Evans at his best. Welcome

PIcking up Cox was huge for us. We still have Clark but we lost our fast athletic lb with Queen leaving. I think Cox balls out( no pun intended) in Pelini’s defense. Him, Clark, and Stevens in the box

Honestly props to the staff. They’ve had an answer to all deficits we have had
they whiffed on evans and besides Stingley, every other CB should not be starting in the SEC
