Nabers just gave Cortez Hankton a big shout out on TNF

Interviewed before the Dallas-NYG game tonight, he was asked how he's handling being the #1 option just 3 games into his rookie season. He said it was due to Coach Hankton showing him how to be a pro before he even got drafted
Hope Cortez gets that clipped and sends that to every recruit possible

Yea. It’s too bad the 5 star WRs are only looking for the $$$ though.

Yeah doesn’t matter we shake trees and they fall out. Nabers wasn’t a 5 star… should have been. Great shout out to his coach. Will help with recruiting to see all these LSU wideouts balling.

It’s fine. Billiot will be a stud and Meadows is a borderline 5 star 6’6 WR. Francis is very underrated and physically mature and Wright is a burner with elite speed.

If we have guys drafted before Moore and Ffrench it would be a standing cautionary tale. Of course, I'm still waiting for Sampson to do literally anything so there's that, too, I guess.

He isn’t going to do shite, Parker passed him up.

Sometimes you have to prove your worth as a coach and develop the “non 5 star” wr’s.

I don't care about Lockett and French, but I really wish they could find a way to get Moore back in this class.
He basically looks like a faster version of prime Jerry Juedy. He's going to be a superstar.

Louisiana receivers are just dawgs. It's been proven over and over. When is the last time an out of state receiver had great success at LSU? Maybe one of the Texas recruits.

I’m guessing Terrance Tolliver was the last non LA guy to be the #1 receiver at LSU

Yea it's crazy. Need to go back to Lafell, DByrd and Toliver who were all OOS and Bowe before that.

Not that he had a bad career by any means, but given his 5* recruiting status Terrence Tolliver had a very underwhelming career at LSU. Could’ve been the QB play, though.

What’s better. A couple million in college that Texas can offer, or 15+ million a year because of lsu putting you in that position in the NFL?

My guess is you’re gonna be waiting a long arse time. With Hilton out, we really needed him to step up and produce. Hell, even if Hilton was healthy, we needed him to. If he can’t get targets on this team, with our lack of running game and the way Nuss is slinging it around to so many different guys, I don’t he ever will. Here, anyway. I don’t know enough to say he’s soft, but I’m pretty confident in saying he doesn’t have the Louisiana “dawg” in him that we saw with Malik last night. Not that he needs to be Malik, but he’s shown nothing. I’d be shocked if he’s back next year, and it will likely be a mutual decision.
Even if we had the top 4 WRs in the country coming in this class, we definitely need to hit the portal. For OL, too. Got a lot of talent in the 2 deep (I think), but if our current guys remain healthy all year, we’ll only have Chester’s 12-13 starts returning on the entire line. That’s terrifying. I know they like Adams, and some of the other guys in the ‘24 class and some
more coming in, but that’s a big step down from the experience we’ve got right now.
shite, we really fricked up losing that USC game. Even though we haven’t looked great, if we were going into the bye at 5-0, a win at home against Ole Miss would have put our chances of making the 12-team playoff pretty high. We could still beat them, but man, the room for error is just so small and a huge ask for the team we’ve been running out there the 1st 4 weeks. And looking at all we’re losing, I think Nuss is gonna wind up having to go too. Coming back might make him better, but his numbers are still likely to be worse. I think we’re gonna just have to play a bunch of young guys next year and take our lumps and set up for a legit NC run in ‘26 and ‘27. So we REALLY needed to find a way to sneak into the playoffs this year to keep the momentum going.
Oh well. Can’t go back and play that USC game again. And our toughest games are at home besides A&M. There’s a chance we could finish our last 11 games 10-1 for a 10-2 overall record. I’m not giving up. But it’s gonna be hard as frick. And the natives are gonna get really restless if we are playing a bunch of 18 and 19 year olds next year, no matter how exciting or talented. frick.
