He's a freshman who was going against probably the best defensive lineman in the country.
So true... The reason he is getting pushed around a lot is his strength. He is a big ole baw at 6'6" 340, but his arms and legs are still not strong enough to big men standards in the SEC trenches.
The year experience with he and Will are huge for our future as they, Zalance Heard and Chester and a bad arse center can form a solid line in 2023 and a dominant line in 2024 and 25.
My OL next year 2023 would be OT Campbell, OG Chester, ?, OG Jones, OT Z. Heard
For Center we have 4-5 choices in this order. Let the coaches decide between 1 of these 5 players
Turner- Hit the weights and get to 310. He is a liability but played OK and is a true center, can make the OL calls pre snap (Rotate Mubenga in a lot)
Stud transfer like Renfro (6'3 310 lbs stud with experience) (Rotate in Mubenga in a lot)
Fitz West- If he goes back to OL
Martinez- Played well last week and big body
Mubenga- Beef him up to 300-310 and throw him in the fire with all our other 2 Freshmen and 2 Soph, which is growing pains for 2023, but we still compete and win many games, but sets the foundation for a NATTY in 2024 or 2025!
LSU's Year in CFP is 2024 (we make the CFP in 2024 and 2025, as 2024 starts the 12 man field)
Projected 2024 Offensive Starters & some Backups
QB Walker Howard So. - Rickie Collins - Colin Hurley
RB Armani Goodwin Sr. - Trey Holly - Kaleb Jackson
WR Malik Nabors Sr. - Jalen Brown - Kyle Parker
WR Shelton Sampson So. - Chris Hilton - Landon Ibieta
WR Brian Thomas Sr. - Jack Bech - Kai Preen
TE Mason Taylor Jr. - Mac Markway - Tayvion Galloway
LT Will Campbell Jr. - Dumervil -
LG DJ Chester So. - Xavier Hill
C Paul Mubenga So. - Transfer
RG Emory Jones Jr. - Tyree Adams
RT Zalance Heard So. - Bo Bordelon
If we can get a couple SR. WR to stay and keep Goodwin as a Sr., with that base OL we created this year and next year, with Walker Howard taking over at QB- Look out the rest of College Football

He prolly got that from the Transfer Portal thread posted at the top of the Recruiting Board page.
Mentioned when he declared a couple days ago.

Turner ain’t it. He still doesn’t have the size and strength needed to make this oline elite
Turner at one time was listed as a TE. He could drop 10 lbs and be a Darnell Washington for us.

Shorts is out of eligibility
I’m fairly certain that he’s coming back. Must be utilizing his COVID year.

You mean going up against a Top 5 NFL draft pick?
Yea he really got exposed
I didn’t take that as a knock on our true frosh standout, but wake-up call is accurate. Not the same as “exposed”.
That’s often the level of competition in the SEC.

Our DT situation is mind boggling. So thin with no help as of now. DTs should be begging to come here.

Turner has quite a gut. Maybe he could be Dillon Gordon type of TE

This year was his covid year. After our bowl game, he will have fully exhausted his eligibility.

Fitz West has a solid future at C. This guy would allow him time to develop another year or two.
