Why is he in this?

Was committed to UCLA or Cal for a long time then flipped on signing day to Washington.

quote:

Dude commits to the same school his good friend commits to on the same day a little more than a week away from NSD. Nothing is changing on that front

Maybe in two years some UCLA fan types:

Priest Willis

Wanted to play in the SEC

or

Led astray by some idiot coach

or

Was paid off to go elsewhere

or

Wasn't smart enough to get into a PAC-16 school

Point is, all those guys were signing day flips. (Although Alexander may have been a day or two before)

Not trying to put water on the fire here, but even if it is Willis my very close friend "who is a big-time UCLA booster played at UCLA and was Captain of their last winning Rose Bowl team and is tied in big with the Athletic Dept" says that PW is at this point a strong lock to UCLA.

I hope like hell Miles can become the Mad Hatter and pull a rabbit "or Willis" out of his hat, but don't get your hopes up boys. Unfortunately that PW boat has sailed and there is just not enough time to change things it looks like.

Miles isn't going to be able to flip Willis. They will get the soft sale and wishing him the best at UCLA... and hope that after making a good impression with the parents that any lingering doubts will be mulled over with the fact that LSU still has open arms to PW.

That may prove to be the case, but I am certain the program would not invest $30k in fuel and equipment time and a full day of Miles' calendar a week before NSD just to go piss up a rope.

This combined with the fact that historically, parents pretty much fall in love with Les in a face to face setting gives LSU it's best chance (however small) given the circumstances.

Miles will give them something to think about. The hope is that PW just asks himself the question one more time.

I'd love Willis to sign with us, but I don't hold out much hope (if any hope) of that happening.
I think this class is pretty much set except for maybe a guy like Duke Riley or somebody like that.

So the concensus is that Miles is flying 2,500 miles round trip for a day in the Tucson sun? Not buying it...

Don't know the answer to this question, just asking it but didn't at least one of PW's parents come on the visit with him when he made is official a few weeks ago. I remember the story about the lineman sleep walking but don't remember whether any of his parents joined him.

I agree Miles probably would not waste his time this close to NSD if he didn't think he still had a chance, I can just tell this board that the UCLA camp feels very, very good about PW"s commitment and sticking. And like I said in an earlier post I hope Miles pulls out a "Willis" out of the Mad Hatter hat of his.

Nola reported last week that Miles would have an in-home with Willis this week and even if he had already committed to UCLA it wouldn't be over - his family likes LSU.

quote:

Willis’ mother and father are very fond of LSU and coaches, Les Miles and Raymond in particular.

quote:

LSU is expected to visit with Willis in the near future as it looks to make one last-ditched effort to talk him off of his UCLA commitment.

While trying to be a smart arse, you look really dumb. But I am not an arse, so I give you a pass, and understand what you are trying to say. (Keyword: trying)

fwiw, after stopping off in Tucson, the plane took a trip up to Santa Rosa, CA - where it was only on the ground for 35 minutes and is now heading back to Tucson...

JMHO, Willis is flippable. He had a very good visit to LSU and he is worth the fight this close to NSD.
