Mike: Big fan of DT Davin Cotton. I think he reminds Coach O of a guy he had at USC in Mike Patterson. Terrace Marshall is a very talented wide receiver. Badara Traore has the size and foot quickness to develop into a good left tackle. Watch for Chris Curry, either him or Tae Provens, may end up being the starter at halfback.

Scott: Cole Smith is someone everyone brings up as a player that could see early playing time. Your thoughts?

Mike: Cole is a very talented lineman. He is technically very strong and he is a physical player. For Cole, it is not a question of talent, but a question of mentally knowing what to do. That center spot has so many aspects to play from a mental standpoint. Blitz pickup, line calls, adjusting people before the snap and taking over as the QB upfront. Thats a lot for a freshman at center. That is why you see so many play guard first and then move to center. Cole is a really talented prospect.

Also an interesting opinion on the QB that was offered as a preferred walk-on.

I have pushed Jordan to other schools they always tell me they have someone better. I don’t get it. Jordan is a good athlete. He played football, baseball and basketball. He is a very thin quarterback but he can hum it. He has good technical skills and throws the ball on balance. Natural leader and he will just get better.

He was the MVP of our Elias Combine Camp sponsored by Thibodaux Regional Medical Center. We had a ton of former college and NFL players there and just about every one of them was asking who he was. Impressive young QB.

If Cotton becomes a contributor along with Moore, then that D-line is gonna be even better than I think it will.

Adding him to the guys we have coming back plus Fehoko and Shelving puts us up there near Clemson in talent on the D-line, IMO.

Exactly. Our front seven this year, along with aranda, is going to be nasty. White will be the best linebacker in the country, he has a full offseason to learn/grow, which is scary

For what it’s worth I talked with a North LA referee that has called games for Logan, mingo, rasco, etc and said David Cotton is the best lineman he’s ever seen. I definitely think the hype is real when he’s healthy

didn’t read the post. Only the first 2 words to give an opinion.
But we know Mike said “Steve Ensminger would not be OC”.
Him and Herbstreit should hang out.

A lot of people care what Mike D says. If not, he wouldn't have been able to make a living doing what he does all these years. He definitely got it right about Canada's leaving LSU when a lot of posters on TD said he was full of shite.

That's the best part of Moscona's show, imho. I try not to miss the Mike D. segment.

I hope this kid does decide to come to LSU. He sounds like a winner to me. I also liked what Mike D. said about his having good accuracy and being very good at reading defenses. He obviously needs to put on some muscle weight, but I'm really intrigued about this guy.

They list the kid at 6'3"-205, shite, he's heavier than Myles Brennan. But I hope he chooses to play for LSU too, I can see Mainieri getting him over to the baseball side to pitch for them also.

Mike D on Bama game in 2013:

quote:

DD: So you agree with me that LSU has a strong chance of winning?

Mike: Yes, I do, and I know it will be close. I think LSU will have a chance to win it late. If they do or not, who knows, but they will have that chance against the champ...

I really think late LSU will have a shot to shock “The Football World.” Expect the unexpected.

Final Score: Alabama 38 - LSU 17

Well obviously many do since MD is on many radio and TV progams. What radio programs are you on?

You don't think that game was close? It was a three point game at halftime and we probably would have been leading if not for Copeland's fumble on the goal line on our first drive.

And the game was tied deep into the third quarter.

Anyway, the score is what it is, but that game was a lot closer than it would seem if you were just looking at the final score.

Idk hard to say a 21 point loss was close, but Bama was an easy pick in that one. Everyone on the rant was predicting a loss by 3 TDs which is exactly what happened.

the game was hard fought and was close. Tigers came up short but the score did not reflect the intensity or competition.
