I really don’t know what you are trying to argue with me about. You are acting like I said he was going to go to Michigan. I think Underwood ends up at LSU.

You asked that if the NIL package was equal why would a kid from Michigan attend the University of Michigan? I'm simply pointing out the hypocrisy of many LSU fans who are furious when a Louisiana kid chooses to go somewhere else besides LSU, yet can't understand why a kid from another state would choose to attend his home state school over LSU.
According to Underwood it’s never been about money, and he’s been committed to LSU for some time now. He’s seen Michigan win a NC and that didn’t seem to sway him at all. My point is the fact that the deal matches LSU is a nothing burger. If it was double, then I’d be concerned. Couple that with their offensive production and identity as well was Jayden’s performance in the NFL and the fact Michigan matched the deal is irrelevant.
Your point would make sense if he was committed to Michigan and LSU matched or even beat the offer and he chose to stick with the home team for less money. That’s not the situation here.

Their passing game this year is a total shite show. They are throwing for like 130 yards a game while we throw for 330.
I know. I think a large portion of this is due to the fact that their quarterbacks are not good.
Its not like Michigan is devoid of QB talent. They have recruited pretty well at the position. Harbaugh preferred his QBs to hand it off 40 times a game and then make safe throws when they had to and took almost no chances in the passing game. They have success with it because they play great defense and make no mistakes and they only played 1 or 2 teams a year that had more than a punchers chance at beating them. Look at the QB from last year, one of their best QBs they have had in 20 years and yet he was almost never the reason why Michigan won.

No backup plan
How about the other 2025 kid that reclassified to 2024 and is currently on the LSU roster? Or the three other 2025 QB's we offered? Or the six 2026 kids we offered? Or the transfer portal? You don't know about a backup plan until we need to go to the backup plan.

He was not a Top 10 pick because of Michigan.
JJ McCarthy was a 5* coming out of IMG Academy. He was going to be a high pick anyway.
So every 5* qb is going to be a high pick?
You know better.

Dude I’ve said that I think Underwood ends up at LSU. I want him at LSU. I don’t think that’s contrarian to what most on this board believe. There was a guy that said “why the frick would he want to go to Michigan?” and then people got pissed when I told him reasons why Bruce Underwood might possibly want to go to Michigan. Quit being so offended when I give a logical response to something that doesn’t 100% benefit LSU. It’s a fricking message board. If every recruit thought like you LSU would still be stuck with shite quarterbacks.
What about last week when I said I think there if LSU makes the SEC championship game at 10-2 and loses, I think there is zero chance that they get left out of the playoff and people told me I was stupid for thinking that. Is that me being negative towards LSU?

This kid was never going to be a Tiger. LSU was used as leverage.

What a weird meltdown. Michigan wasn’t even the #2 school for Bryce, Alabama was.
Since he committed to LSU in January, he hasn’t visited a single campus, officially or unofficially. He’s done nothing but act like a pro, his family as well.
The other report said Michigan is MATCHING LSU’s offer…almost a year later
This is the biggest nothing burger posted on this board in a long, long time. He’ll be at LSU in 2 weeks having the time of his life I’m sure.

JJ McCarthy was a 5* coming out of IMG Academy. He was going to be a high pick anyway.

This feels like a teachable moment.
Some players make it to the NFL because of their innate talent alone. Not because they were developed in college, but just because people think they are very talented. But players can certainly demonstrate in college that their high school rating was incorrect.
Now, McCarthy was a 5* coming from IMG. That rating and school suggested that he's a talented kid. Nothing he did at Michigan disputed that suggestion.
Championship teams tend to add an aura of success to the players on that team. People tend to think of those players as "winners" whether they are the reason team won or not. In particular, QBs receive the benefit of that shine.
The championship Harbaugh brought Michigan certainly enhanced McCarthy's shine. But Michigan's scheme did little to develop him as a QB. He was #69 in the nation in passing yards per game last year.
Moreover, now that Harbaugh is gone, there is nothing to suggest that Michigan would add to McCarthy draft stock this year. Nor is there anything to suggest that Michigan would add anything to Underwood's draft stock for the next four years.
In conclusion, (1) the jury is still out on Jackson Arnold, (2) the current Michigan team is not helping anyone to be a high draft pick.
So endeth the lesson.

Underwood stated he wasn't going to Michigan even after Portnoy said he would give $3 million in NIL to lure a QB to Michigan.
Hell yeah! I’m glad he publicly stated that!
