If money is equal it comes down to who he trust more to develop him. If the kid is smart it isn’t fricking close in that department it should be an easy decision for underwood look at burrow, Daniels and Nuss. Michigan outside of JJ McCarthy hasn’t done shite with a qb over the past decade

also, if he didn't want to go to Michigan when they had Harbaugh, he would be an idiot to go there with Moore.

Educate yourself.

He was not a Top 10 pick because of Michigan.

JJ McCarthy was a 5* coming out of IMG Academy. He was going to be a high pick anyway.

Michigan won a championship because of Harbaugh and that championship helped raise all Michigan players' stock. But Harbaugh is GONE. Michigan is not raising anyone's stock now..

Ok? So Jackson Arnold will be a top 10 pick right? Also, if that is your stance, then Bryce Underwood would fall into that same category of being a high draft pick no matter where he goes.

So if McCarthy was on this year’s Michigan team he would be a high draft pick? Because that’s what you said right before this.

If you’re acting like McCarthy handing the ball off 50+ times a game at Michigan got him up to a first round pick you’re mistaken. QB needy draft last year and Falcons trading up when they didn’t even need a QB caused teams to panic and reach on QBs

If have no clue why he was drafted so high. I don’t think he’s very good. Which is why I think saying that a QB from Michigan shouldn’t go to Michigan if they want to be drafted high is a dumb thing to say. Also, the Falcons didn’t trade up for their 1st round pick.

I don't usually take the time to spell things out for people, but I'll do it for you today.

This feels like a teachable moment.

Some players make it to the NFL because of their innate talent alone. Not because they were developed in college, but just because people think they are very talented. But players can certainly demonstrate in college that their high school rating was incorrect.

Now, McCarthy was a 5* coming from IMG. That rating and school suggested that he's a talented kid. Nothing he did at Michigan disputed that suggestion.

Championship teams tend to add an aura of success to the players on that team. People tend to think of those players as "winners" whether they are the reason team won or not. In particular, QBs receive the benefit of that shine.

The championship Harbaugh brought Michigan certainly enhanced McCarthy's shine. But Michigan's scheme did little to develop him as a QB. He was #69 in the nation in passing yards per game last year.

Moreover, now that Harbaugh is gone, there is nothing to suggest that Michigan would add to McCarthy draft stock this year. Nor is there anything to suggest that Michigan would add anything to Underwood's draft stock for the next four years.

In conclusion, (1) the jury is still out on Jackson Arnold, (2) the current Michigan team is not helping anyone to be a high draft pick.

So endeth the lesson.

I see this as good news. I was worried he might be tempted with a significantly higher NIL offer.
