I've seen his profile, I was wondering if anyone had any personal info on him. Like is he going to be highly rated or is he a lock for LSU.

Honestly, this is the 1st time I've seen Melvin Hills' name mentioned on this board.

It's really hard to say when they're a several years out (he's a sophomore last year I believe) unless they're a rare freak-type athlete.
I know zero about the kid personally, but will offer my view anyway...
Just going off his tape, I can see he has pretty good instincts, toughness, and size for his age. And hey, he makes plays, which counts for a lot. On the other hand, he needs a bit of technique development (very common for underclassmen in high school and even college!), and frankly, he doesn't look particularly explosive. That said, I assume he improved his athleticism significantly in offseason training/workouts--i.e. after this highlight tape was made--because LSU isn't going to offer a D Lineman they don't think can develop into someone who can blow up the guy across the line of scrimmage from him. So, good for him for putting the work; that speaks volumes. And, if he keeps developing, who knows whaat his limit is! He'll be the one who decides how much of his athletic potential he can achieve.

I will give you a hint, an unwritten rule about future guys that are a lock or lsu have interests in them or not. If BK and his boys are not banging down the kids door well there u have it the kid needs to get better at his craft and walla. Thats a hint to why you have not seen anything yet

He has an LSU offer so there is an interest from LSU, not sure how serious.
He plays for a coach, Trev Faulk, who was an LSU star and still loves LSU. And is a defensive minded coach.
The Dline coach at LCA is a good coach and sets high expectations for his players, he was a player at Grambling. You’ll note he also has an offer from Grambling. He also has offers from Southern and Miss St. all offer on June 7th. Not sure what that means if anything, it may just be that’s when they were reported,I don’t really know the ins and outs of recruiting and offers.
I am almost 6 years removed from my son playing there so neither he nor I have as much info as we did at one time. My son does say he looked really good but was hurt about week 5 so didn’t finish out the season.
Clean probably has some of the best info on Acadiana area players, in my experience. You might also try Louisiana sportsline
